James McVey is a name that is associated with The Vamps. He is the lead vocalist and the guitarist of the band The Vamps. James McVey is also the main person who had initiated the formation of this band which then rose to fame with their melodious singles.

James McVey’s Early Life and Birth

James McVey’s full name is James Daniel McVey. Born on 30 April 1994, he is currently 23 years old. He was born in Bournemouth, England in the UK. James also has a sister who is younger than him and is called Sophie. There is not much known about his parents. James has also not revealed to anyone about his school and college days. His childhood days are in the dark with very little having been released in print.

Their hunt for more bandmates was on and then it was via Facebook that James and Brad got the third member of the band namely Tristan Evans in 2012. He became the band’s drummer. It was through a mutual friend that the band got their last member namely Connor Ball who became their bassist.

The group first started posting their song covers on their YouTube channel and these were liked by their fans. Their fan base started growing and their band gained fame and popularity. They got a decent deal with Mercury Records and they agreed and signed it. Their first single was ‘Can we dance’ and it met with great success. It was released on YouTube in October 2013 and the single gathered more than 1 million views in a matter of 2 weeks. It also ranked on position number 2 on UK’s music charts for singles.

Later in 2014, the group released their debut album which was named Meet the Vamps. This was also a hit with music lovers worldwide and in the UK. This was followed by their second album named Wake Up. This also was well received by the band’s fans and other music listeners globally. In 2016, the band and Norwegian DJ Matoma came together to write and make music. The band’s third album called Night and Day was released in July 2017. The success of this British pop-rock band is high and they are now amongst the top bands in the UK. The band has also done live concerts and performances and tours. They have also launched their record label called Steady Records.
