Max Gail is an American actor who has been active for nearly 5 decades in the acting field of stage, TV, and films. His impressive filmography and the fact that even at the age of 74 years he is into acting reveals his talent and passion for acting. Max Gail: Bio, birth, parents, twin sister, siblings, and education
Max Gail was born as Maxwell Trwobridge Gail Jr. on 5 April 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. His parents were mother Mary Elizabeth Gail and father Maxwell Trowbridge Gail Sr. His father was a businessman. He has a twin sister called Mary Gail who is also an actress and singer and resides in Berlin with her daughter and her family. He had another five siblings out of which one of his brother is an actor.
His upbringing was mainly done in Grosse Ile Township, Michigan. After his school time, he was enrolled at the Williams College and later he took to becoming an instructor at the University Liggett School.

His first acting role came to him in 1970 when played Chief Bromden in the San Francisco’s Little Fox Theater in the stage production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. In 1973, he was again chosen to play the same character at the New York Stage.
In spite of debuting with theater roles, his real fame when he played Det. Stan “Wojo” Wojciehowicz in TV sitcom Barney Miller; a role he handled successfully for 7 years from 1975 to 1982. His landmark role was that of Harold, the owner of DC Cab Taxi Company in 1983’s feature film titled D.C.Cab. He also directed several episodes of Barney Miller and was credited for this job as Maxwell Gail.
In 1984, he debuted on Broadway and acted in the monodrama called The Babe. The whole play was filmed to be aired on PBS. Gail has been a part of several other popular TV shows and series such as Whiz Kids in 1983, Normal Life in 1990, and Sons and Daughters in 2006.
He has also guest appeared on Cannon, Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman, Due South, The Secrets of San Francisco, Paul and Sand in Friends and Lovers, The Drew Carey Show, Hawaii Five 0, Quantum Leap, Gary Unmarried, Psych, Mad Men, and Scorpion.
Gail was also cast in film 42 in 2013. Gail also started his own production company which was called as Full Circle. This company produces documentaries on Native Americans, nuclear issues etc. In 2017, he appeared in September Morning and Abundant Acreage Available.
Max Gail: romantic relationships, marriage, and children
Max Gail’s previous love life information is not available. In 1982, Max married Willie Beir. They were a happy family and Willie used to accompany Max to various events and occasions. She was also there at the wrap party of Barney Miller on 26 April 1982 at Chasen’s Restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA. Willie gave birth to a lovely daughter called India Gail in 1984. Unfortunately, Max lost his wife in 1986 to cancer.
Max remarried Nan Harris in 1989. The couple has two children; son Max born in 1990 and daughter Grace who was born in 1993. He had bilateral knee replacement surgery and recovered well to set off to a new adventure.
