Initially, she worked in the fashion industry as a fashion stylist before changing her career as an interior designer at the age of 30. Along with her brother Steve, who is a contractor and carpenter, Leanne Ford redesigned a grungy schoolhouse attic to a master bath.
She was then picked up by Country Living and featured on the cover of design books, which catapulted her career in interior design.
HGTV reached out to her for the first time for hosting the show Fixer Upper. However, her first husband was not keen to be on TV. So Leanne Ford had parted ways with HGTV, which later on found Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines to feature on Fixer Upper.
She made her appearance in Restored by the Fords in 2016. She has also worked in TV shows Rock the Block (2019), and A Very Brady Renovation (2019).
