She used to play college golf at theDuke University where she studied.
She had also earned a scholarship to play golf at college. She was on the University’s women golf team. She had also won the 1990’s Lady Paladin Invitational which was hosted by the Furman University. She did her graduation in Political Science and History.

Kelly Tilghman’s broadcasting career
Kelly Tilghman has been working with the Golf Channel since its inception. She has done a variety of roles for the channel. She worked first as a touring professional. She then was part of the PGA Tours And their telecasts. She used to do the play-by-play announcements of the game.
She became the main anchor after the channel signed a 15-year-deal which stated that The Golf Channel would broadcast the first three events of the year, weekday coverage of all tour events, and full coverage of the Fall Series and opposite-field events.
She and the lead analyst Nick Faldo formed the main broadcast team for the majority of the PGA Tours’ telecasts. Kelly Tilghman had also served as co-anchor for Golf Central, host of Sprint Post Game and Live From … telecasts, as well as a variety of Golf Channel original programs, including Academy Live and The Grey Goose 19th Hole. She also served as an on-course reporter for the network’s live tournament team.
Kelly had also played professional golf from 1992-1996 in Australia, Europe, and Asia. She also was a teaching and touring pro.
All was going well till 2008 when during the tour telecast, Kelly passed some remarks on Tiger Woods. When her co-host Nick joked that all the young players should ‘gang up’ on Tiger Woods, Kelly went on to state:
“Lynch him in a back alley.”

Though it was considered a joke and Tiger’s agent also felt that she had no ill-intent, a civil rights activist demanded her sacking saying it was a racist slur. Tiger’s rep clarified:
“There was no ill intent at all. I think it was just a slip, and they said that Tiger has already forgiven her. I think when you’re in the TV tower for that many hours, you’re going to wish you didn’t say some things probably, and that was one thing that slipped out. I think you’ve got to give them a little grace. Her integrity, how Kelly is respected out here, is pretty good. I think Tiger really likes Kelly, so that helped squash it. Because Tiger could have run off with that if he took it the wrong way. But he didn’t, so that was good.”
She did apologize later but she received a 2 weeks suspension order for her comments. Since the incident, Kelly now is seen on Tiger’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, 10, and 11 video games. She does earn enough but her salary amount is not known.
Kelly Tilghman’s relationships
Kelly Tilghman is not married. There were some rumors floating that she is secretly married to her co-host and English golfer Nick Faldo and is pregnant with his baby. This gay allegation also turned out to be a rumor and nothing could be proved at that front. So for all practical purposes, Kelly is single at the moment!
