Lori Loughlin is a popular American actress who appeared as Rebecca in the ABC Sitcom Full House from 1988 to 1995. She was a former model and has also featured in the sequel of Full House namely Fuller House on Netflix.

As per her bio, Lori Loughlin was born on 28 July 1964 in Queens, New York. Some websites have put her birthplace as long Island or Hauppauge, NY.

Lori has clarified on this subject thus:

“I grew up in Hauppauge but I was born in Queens,” moving with her family when “I was a year old.”

Her parents were Lorrelle and Joseph Roy. Her father worked as a foreman in the New York Telephone Company. She studied first at Oaks School # 3 Elementary School and graduated from Hauppauge High School. Though holding an American nationality, she has Irish ethnicity. She was interested in acting from her childhood.

Lori Loughlin and her career in movies and TV series

Lori was just 11 when she became a print model. Recalling the time she was selected for modeling, Lori said:

“My mom had a friend that was going into Manhattan to meet with an agency for modeling. She was taking her teenage daughters in and she asked my mom if I wanted to go along. My mom reluctantly let me go, but I don’t think she ever thought anything would come of it. And I went in and they handed me a contract and said, “We’ll take you.”

In her teens, she bagged the role of an aspiring dancer in The Edge of Night. This was followed by a number of feature films and TV guest appearances which she did from 1983 to 1988. For the next 7 years, she was a series regular on Full House.

In 1997, she starred in Line of Duty: Blaze of Glory. In 2000, she was cast in Critical Mass. She has also done a number of more guest appearances such as in Suddenly Susan, Spin City, The Drew Carey Show, etc.

She was in Summerland (2004 to 2005) on WB TV, Moondance Alexander (2007), and Meet My Mom in 2010. She also was seen in Beverly Hills 90210 from 2008 to 2011.

Lori’s husband was investment banker Michael R. Burns. They tied the knot in 1989 and divorced in 1996. She met fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli in 1995, began dating him, and eloped with him on Thanksgiving 1997. They have two daughters-Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade.

She has a stepson called Gianni who is Mossimo’s son from a previous relationship. Talking about balancing her career and family, Lori said:

“Well, it’s challenging and you go day by day. I’m very lucky that when I’m in Vancouver working, my husband, their dad, is around and he’s with them. So they’re—they always have a parent with them 24/7. And we tag team very well, my husband and I.”
