Maurice DuBois was born on 20 August 1965 in Long Island in New York. His parents, Ramona and Maurice Dubois Sr. were immigrants from the Caribbean Island of Dominica and he has an American nationality and Dominican ethnicity. There is no information about his siblings.

Maurice had studied at the Port Jefferson High School and after his high school graduation, he enrolled at the Northwestern University for a BS degree in journalism. This University is situated in Evanston, Illinois.

Maurice was studying when he also began his internship program at the Public Affairs Office of the Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island in 1984 and did it for two years. He used to write for the employee newspaper called Brookhaven Bulletin.
In 1987, Maurice joined KING’s TV and worked as a desk assistant. His work was in Seattle, Washington. He then took up the job of an anchor and reporter with the WFLD-TV in Chicago, Illinois. His next job was for KCRA-TV in Sacramento, CA.

For 7 years, Maurice worked for the WNBC-TV in New York. He used to co-anchor the show Today in New York. He was also the host of Four Stories and Mind Over Media.
Maurice was also a substitute news reader on NBC News’ Today program. In September 2004, he switched channel and joined WCBS-TV in New York. He anchored a number of other CBS News shows.
Maurice anchored local news but also worked for national political conventions and special programs such as AIDS in South Africa. He has described these exercises as intense. I’m taking some time off because I’ve been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, a temporary condition which has caused weakness on the right side of my face.
My doctors say the prognosis is good once it runs its course.
Thanks so much for your concern and well-wishes; I look forward to getting back to work as soon as possible.”
