Judith Ralston is a Scottish singer turned TV presenter. She is one of the main weather girls in BBC Scotland. She delivered twins last year and her joy knew no bounds. So what did Judith Ralston say about them? Let us find out!

Judith Ralston’s double bundle of joy!

Judith Ralston delivered twins Max and Georgia and she was overjoyed when they were laid on her chest the next day after their delivery. They were 9 weeks premature and weighed only 4 lbs each. They were in special neonatal intensive care for 24 hours. Talking about that time, Judith said:

“I was like this mad woman trying to get up to see them. The next day they laid them on my chest, the first time they’d been together, and the most special bit was when they reached out and held each other’s hands.”

She added:

“It was amazing to see. Twins can be hard but I didn’t feel any of the hardships because I was so delighted they were here. I know I’m so lucky.”

Judith Ralston was happier since she had suffered two miscarriages before the twins were born.

Talking about those tragedies, Judith said:

“I lost my little girl when she was 24 weeks, a stillbirth really. The other baby was lost really early. I don’t mind sharing it as I know a lot of women go through it. A year on I saw my friend go through the same thing and I was able to talk to her about it.”

Judith Ralston and her husband Frazer (met office forecaster) have a 14-year-old son Alexander. Due to the miscarriages, they were contemplating adoption. And then Judith came to know that she is pregnant with twins. Along with joy was worry and concern about any potential miscarriage. Hence after the safe delivery and on seeing the babies, Judith was ecstatic. For Judith, they are ‘rays of sunlight’.

About Judith Ralston’s birth and music career

She was born in 1968 in Edinburg, the UK. There is not much known about her parents, immediate family or siblings if any. Judith had a great love for music right from the young days. She learned to play oboe, violin and also was singing at the age of 15 years. She was accepted at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dance and it was her dream to be a professional opera singer.

She graduated in 1991 and started work with the choruses at the Scottish operas.

She went to Manchester for her further studies but returned to Scotland to pursue her singing passion. She had attended Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. While studying in Manchester she was also singing at operas and had also received awards for her excellent performances.

Judith was making it big in the music world. But tragedy struck her career when her voice collapsed! The muscles of her voice box were unable to cope up and were damaged. She was forced to leave her singing career! There was no option!

Judith Ralston’s media career

Judith Ralston in 1999 joined as a travel reporter with BBC Scotland. Gradually, she went on to do weather reporting. She also used to present music programs given her knowledge in the field. She also hosted other BBC radio and TV shows.

Currently, she is one of the main weather presenters at BBC Scotland. She resides with her family at Glasgow and is having a happy married life!
