Talking about his career, Golic started playing football from his school days. He played as a standout lineman for the Northwest Catholic Indians high school football team. While at university, he played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team.
Mike started his professional football career with the Pittsburgh Steelers of National Football League (NFL) in 2013. On April 27, 2013, he signed with the Steelers, as an undrafted free agent. On May 10, 2014, he signed with the New Orleans Saints signed with a two-year deal.
After finishing a contract with New Orleans Saints, he participated in the Montreal Alouettes training camp. In June 2016, he joined the team Montreal Alouettes. However, the club released him prior to the start of the season. On September 25, 2014, he was assigned with the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League (AFL).
On August 19, 2016, he announced his retirement while co-hosting The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.
