Eddie Huang’s birth, age, childhood, and education

Eddie was born on 1 March 1982 in Washington D.C.; his age is 35 years. His parents are immigrants from Taiwan. They are Jessica and Louis Huang. His upbringing was in Silver Spring, Maryland. The family then migrated to Orlando, Florida where his father was in charge of a group of well-running steak and seafood restaurants. These included the ‘Atlantic Bay Seafood and Grill’ and ‘Cattleman’s Ranch SteakHouse’.

He was a difficult child while growing up and had been arrested on two occasions for assault on other people. He had a liking for hip-hop culture and music.

He later studied at the University of Pittsburg and Rollins College. He did a BA in English and Film from Rollins in 2004. He won several prestigious awards at Rollins.

In 2008, Huang went on to get a J.D. in Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. He was an active student at his Law School.

Eddie Huang’s career

Eddie first worked as an attorney. He worked in New York City for a law firm called Chadbourne and Parke. In 2006 and 2007 he was a summer associate and was promoted to an associate at the Corporate Department in 2008. He lost his job due to the 2008 recession. He took up work as a stand-up comedian and marijuana dealer.

Eddie had a streetwear clothing line called ‘Hoodman Clothing’ from 2006 to 2008. Eddie also had an interest in cooking and had watched with interest his mother cook at home. He was also close to the chef’s at his father’s restaurants and learned the different cooking styles from them. He learned from his father the tricks of the trade.

In 2009, he opened his restaurant called BaoHaus in the Lower East Side of Lower Manhattan. It was a Taiwanese bun shop. In July 2011, he shifted this to a bigger place and with an expanded menu. He also opened another restaurant called Xiao Ye. However, this was unsuccessful and had to be closed down.

He also created his blog and also penned books and his memoir. This memoir was later adapted by ABC into a series. He also hosted some cooking shows on The Cooking Channel.

He was also embroiled in a few controversies relating to his racist comments and also non-attendance for the TED fellowship. He was also called ‘a walking mixtape of postmodern cultural appropriation’ by the NY Times.

Eddie Huang’s personal life and family

Eddie is not married and has no wife. He was once dating a girlfriend called Dena. The two were supposedly engaged in 2013 and had planned to be married in 2014. However, there were some controversial turns in his life around that time and the two broke up. He is supposedly single at the moment. He has no children.
