Nyfw creator says Kim kardashian worn Marilyn monroe dress should be in a museum

NYFW creator and many others are not happy with Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress.

RipleNYFW creator says Kim Kardashian’s Marilyn dress should’ve been in a museum. She doesn’t support the idea of renting historic garments!!

NYFW creator further hopes that Kardashian doesn’t start a trend of other celebrities also renting iconic garments.

Following claims that Kim Kardashian damaged an iconic Marilyn Monroe dress by wearing it on the Met Gala red carpet, New York Fashion Week maker Fern Mallis lets us know the historic piece of clothing should have been in a historical center in any case.

“The problem with the Marilyn/Kim episode is that the dress was at Ripley’s Believe It or Not,” Mallis exclusively told the media at a celebration for fashion brand Alice & Olivia.

“The dress deserved to be at a museum where nobody could wear it and touch it. It really is an iconic piece of art and American history.”

Marilyn Monroe wore that dress when she sang “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden.

Kim opted to make history and does have a knack for breaking the internet once again.

Similarly, Kim arrived fashionably late in a sparkling skin-tight gown adorned with over 60,000 hand-sewn crystals.

With the help of Bob Mackie, the Hollywood designer Jean Louis created the dress 60 years ago. The shimmering dress was one of the most iconic looks by Marilyn Monroe.

Believe it or Not!

Ripley’s loaned the dress to Kardashian. However, it is a museum and events franchisee that purchased the gown for a record-breaking $4.8 million at a 2016 auction which sets a new record.

After Monroe’s seductive performance for the president’s 45th birthday, Kennedy said,

“I can now retire from politics after having had ‘Happy Birthday’ sung to me in such a sweet, wholesome way.

A little secret…. but the moment after fan rumors about the nature of relationship` between Monroe and Kennedy.

Marilyn Monroe’s historian Scott Fortner posted pictures of the dress, supposedly when Kardashian wore it, which seems to show missing gems and tears in the fragile fabric.

Moreover, Kardashian says she lost 16 pounds in three weeks to wear the dress, and just wore it for the red carpet prior to changing into a replica of the same.

But Mallis noted that,

“She could have worn the knockoff from the g et-go and nobody would have cared. It would have gotten the message out.”

On Thursday, Ripley answered claims Kardashian damaged the garment, saying that a 2017 report on the dress’ condition says,

“A number of the seams are pulled and worn. This is not surprising given how delicate the material is. There is puckering at the back by the hooks and eyes.”

According to Ripley’s VP, The dress Is not damaged! It was in the same condition as it started in. Whereas, Mallis hopes that this movement doesn’t come out as a trend of borrowing historic garments from celebrities.

She tells,

“There is enough creativity out there now that they should be wearing the great designers that are working today,”

Mallis, herself a historian of fashion, has recently delivered another book through Rizzoli, “Fashion Icons 2″. It incorporates interviews with Valentino, Bethann Hardison, Arthur Elgort, Victoria Beckham, Leonard Lauder, and legend Bob Mackie.

Mackie, who drew the first sketch for the Monroe outfit, said something regarding Kardashian wearing the piece last month saying,

“It was done for Marilyn Monroe. It was designed for her. Nobody else should be seen in that dress!!”

Well, some said they loved her in the dress while some are upset saying that celebrities shouldn’t be misusing their power and that history should be preserved. so, what do we think?
