He will be missed everyday at this time we thank you for all of the kind words and we ask for privacy as we mourn his passing.”

He will be tremendously missed by our family, the team at Gold & Silver Pawn and his many fans the world over. He was my hero and I was fortunate to get a very cool ‘Old Man’ as my dad. That I got to share him with so many others and they got to see what a great family man he was is something I am grateful to have experienced with him. He lived a very full life and through the History television show ‘Pawn Stars’ touched the lives of people all over, teaching them the value of loving your family, hard work and humor. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and ask that we are provided some privacy at this time.”
The old man and his early life
He was born in Danville, Virginia on 4 March 1941. He had an Irish descent. At age 1, his family migrated to Lexington, North Carolina. He was admitted to Lexington High School but left it in his junior year. He came from a poor family and for money at age 14, he used to dive a school bus.

After he was discharged by the Navy, he worked at his wife’s real estate office for some time but their business soon suffered due to declining real estate sales.
In 1981, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and he with $ 5000 in hand started a Gold and Silver Coin shop. He soon expanded it to include sale and purchase of second-hand goods. In 1989, he opened his Gold and Silver Pawn Shop and this picked up business. He also had his own show on History Channel called Pawn Stars. He was known for his in-depth knowledge of goods, wisdom, and jokes. His net worth is assessed to be $ 5 million.
