Tahj Mowry, an actor, dancer, and singer who is mostly known for his role in ABC comedy ‘Baby daddy’ as Tucker has an amazing life with lots of experience to share. His acting life and choice of singing career have exciting turn so let’s begin the roller coaster ride!

Tahj Mowry before fame

Currently, Tahj Mowry is a successful actor but before fame, he was just the brother of Tia and Tamara Mowry. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the United States of America to Darlene Mowry and Timothy Mowry with the family of six, two twins sister and a brother.

He grew up in the Army as his both parents were U.S. Army Sergeants in Hawaii. He got his high school education from the Westlake High School situated in California. Later joined Savannah State University for further studies. He was also enrolled at the University of Wyoming and is also a graduate of Pepperdine University. Tahj was interested in football and played during his high school years.

Why did Tahj Mowry end Football Career?

Tahj as a football player had much more than just a game. He was a good player but later gave up on sports career and the reason is his teammates. He was targeted by his fellow players even when he was not on the field like taking the video of him during his practice and also some of his actings videos during his beginning phase on Hollywood industry.

“It was like they were going after me, even if I didn’t have the ball,” he said, laughing. “[They’d say]’Oh I like your show, I’m going to hit you that much harder.’ And I’d [wonder] shouldn’t that be the opposite of that?”

But with all the bullies he turned it into his strength and build his character.

 “I got back at them with my play,” he said. “I’m a shorter dude, so I was always low so people had issues trying to tackle me because I’m low to the ground. So short people, there you go.”

Although with his raising career he’d had enough with all the drama so he quit on his football career and continued his acting.

“I was like you know what, it’s too cold in Wyoming,” he said. “I just want to act again.”

Although he left football we have to say he made a good career choice as he has now both fame and respect!

Tahj Mowry Stardom

Mowry started his journey in Hollywood industry in 1997 with sitcom Smart Guy as T.J. Henderson in the main role created by Danny Kallis. His role was recognizable as he had few offers for movies as well. He appeared in movies like Hounded and The Poof Point.

Later he was seen as Teddy on the television show Full House which was in favor of him as he was able to get into some episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. With his rising fame, he got parts in other movies like Star Trek: Voyager and Are We Done Yet.

He has also a guest role in the famous series like Desperate Housewives, The Game and much more. Tahj is a talented person as he can sing as well. His voice can be heard on The Lion King and has been featured with Florida in the song Kick It Out. With all his talent he got his career breaking role in 2012 with ‘Baby Daddy’ as Tucker Dobbs where is the Best friend of main character ‘Ben’. The series first premiered on June 20, 2012, which got him nominated for a number of awards including the Young Artist and Teen Awards.

Tahj has also released his own debut song Flirt, under Excel Beats production in April 2015. During August 2015 he released his Six-song EP. He has some hits but he is planning to release his upcoming songs soon.

Tahj Mowry’s Siblings and Relationship Status

He has three siblings, two sisters, and one brother. His sisters are twins and both are actress Tia and Tamer Mowry who got famous for their role in hit sitcom Sister, Sister where Tahj also played three different characters.

Currently, Tahj is single but he had a few relationships in the past. He is solely focused on his career as of now and has been out of dating arena for some time. In 2003, during his rising phase to stardom, he had girlfriend Aleisha Allen whom he dated for almost four years but couldn’t continue their relationship as they had some internal problem which leads them to separation on 2007.

After his first break up, he was linked with model Erica Ocampo in 2015 as they were seen together several times. The couple went on vacation together to Bali. However, they didn’t last long as they went separate ways after dating for short while. Tahj looks like he is waiting for the right girl to come along.
