Pink gave tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John who died due to breast cancer. She honored Olivia at the 2022 American Music Awards on Sunday by singing her hit song, “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”
Pink whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore Hart performed her heart out at the 2022 American Music Awards while giving tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John. She sang her hit song, “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from Grease. Similarly, Pink was wearing a champagne-colored gown that had sparkle and feather detail.
On Sunday, she shows her appearance at AMAs, and Olivia’s picture was behind her. Pink says that singing Newton’s hit song to pay tribute on such a big stage is an honor to her. She really feels lucky as she also stated,
“I had the pleasure of being around her several times, and she was as darling as you would imagine. She was such an icon, and it’s a really big honor to be able to sing her [music].”

“Olivia, our love for each other transcends our understanding. Every day we expressed our gratitude for this love that could be so deep, so real, and so natural. We never had to ‘work’ on it.”

Not only this, but John continued by saying,
“We were in awe of this great mystery and accepted the experience of our love as a past, present, and forever. Even now as her soul soars, the pain and holes in my heart are healed with the joy of her love and the light that shines forward.”
“I can’t tell you [what I’m singing], but I will tell you that my daughter [Willow] did Grease in her last summer production, and she is teaching me the song. It’ll be magical.”
In addition to this, Alecia also said,
“Willow’s gnarly when I forget the words to my own songs. I made a bet with her once. She was like, ‘That’s not the right words.’ I’m like, ‘I wrote it.’ She’s like, ‘That’s not the words.’ And we went back, and she won. It’s tough.”
