Wiz Khalifa real name and age
Wiz Khalifa was born as Cameron Jibril Thomaz. He was born in Minot, North Dakota, the USA on 8 September 1987 making his age as 30 years. His parents worked in the military. When Wiz was 3, his parents separated. Due to his parental military job, Wiz has been to multiple places such as Germany, the UK, and Japan. He then settled in Pittsburgh where he studied at the Taylor Allderdice High School.
Explaining how he got the name of Wiz Khalifa, he had once said:
’cause I was good at everything I did, and my granddad is Muslim, so he gave me that name; he felt like that’s what I was doing with my music.”
This name is tattooed on his body on his 17th birthday. He had an interest and love for music right from his childhood days.
Wiz and his career
Wiz’s name caught the attention of Rostrum Records president Benjy Grinberg in 2004 when he heard one of his mixtapes. On meeting 16-year-old Wiz, Grinberg decided immediately to launch him. He later said:
“Even though he wasn’t all the way developed you could just tell that he was a diamond in the rough, and that with some polishing, guidance and backing he could become something special.”
He was with this label for 7 years and continued to refine and develop. After his mixtape in 2005, he released his first album called Show and Prove in 2006. He was named an artist to watch by Rolling Stone magazine.

He also performed and did opening acts at various music festivals. He was on the cover of XXL Magazine with other musicians. He also started music tours for his songs as well as with other artists. He also appeared in the music videos of other singers and rappers.

The mainstream success
His mainstream success came in 2010 with his single Black and Yellow which was on Billboard Top 100. His debut album with Atlantic Records came in 2011. He also began his record label called Taylor Gang Records. In 2011, he was also nominated for the BET awards. He collaborated with British rapper Tinie Tempah. His album O.N.I.F.C. had great sales and won him accolades. He released more albums many of which had many hit songs.

After 10 years of partnership, Wiz split with his former manager Benjy Grinberg. The case also went to court.
