Renee Victor is a famous American actress who was cast as Lupita in Weeds and gained recognition due to this portrayal. She is also a voice actor. So what has been the life and career journey for this 65-year-old veteran of the cinema world? Let us find out.

Renee Victor and her birth and childhood

Renee Victor was born on 15 June 1953. She holds an American nationality and her birthplace is San Antonio in Texas. Both her parents are working and professionals and the family is a traditional Catholic one. She dies have other siblings but their details are unknown. Renee attended the all-girls St. Teresa’s School and later went to St. Mary’s and Divine Providence Academies.

She was a brilliant student and was also the class President on several occasions. In her high school days, she got the title of being the most talented student.

Renee also had a keen interest in acting and used to perform in school plays. She also learned dancing and singing and had performed at the young age of 10 in the San Antonio production of the opera called Carmen.

Renee has studied at the University of Texas, the American Film Institute, AADA, and has done Improv with Gary Austin, Shirley Prestia, and Kip King. She had also attended the Sydney Conservatory of Music, Columbia School of Broadcasting, and the Hollywood Scriptwriter’s Institute.

Renee Victor and her early career

Renee Victor first set her foot into singing and dancing as her career. She began to work at the Stardust hotel in Las Vegas and used to give performances there. She also did a lot of stage work in Europe, Latin America, the Far East, Australia, and New Zealand. She got international fame and this led to more offers from the world.

Renee soon also got opportunities to work in the television and commercials. She also gave cabaret performances and also worked as a choreographer. In Australia, she also got a chance to host her own popular TV musical variety show. Soon after her trips to Australia and New Zealand, Renee came back to Los Angeles. She became the host of KTLA’s popular talk show which was called Pacesetters. She did choreography and also sang at local theaters and did few jobs of translating series and programs from English to Spanish. She assisted in the production and also served as a reporter.

Renee Victor had once hired the famous Latin jazz pianist for her accompaniment for 6 months. Recalling those times, Renee had said:

She began acting and got good roles for it. She was cast in 2003’s The Apostle, 2002’s Assassination Tango, and 2013’s A night in old Mexico. Miguel Najera directed her in Libertad and felt that she was excellent. She received an award for it and Miguel said:

Her portrayal of Libertad, a strong, independent woman tempered with tenderness, personified how the Mexican female spirit survived in a man’s world. She also starred in Weeds and people felt that she not only steals shows but also hearts. In 2014, she was cast in Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. He did many other memorable characters and has voiced Abuelita Elena in Pixar’s animation film Coco.

Renee Victor has a Latina ethnicity and is single and happy. She is said to have two daughters Margo and Raquel, but this could not be confirmed.
