Rick Genest Reason for Death

Rick was one of the popular models and actors. He was found dead on August 1, 2018. Rick Genest fell from the balcony at his Plateau-Mont-Royal apartment. The police source investigated and told CBC it was a case of an apparent suicide. Some relatives and friends believe it was an accident. He left no suicide note and his autopsy found no trace of drugs.

Before he had any tattoos, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He was on the waiting list for six months, during which he contemplated ending his own life and possible death, before undergoing the surgery with minimal complications.

Lady Gaga’s tweets

Lady Gaga had revealed on Twitter that his death was due to suicide, which she has since removed. She had written:

“The suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy is beyond devastating. We have to work harder to change the culture, bring mental health to the forefront, and erase the stigma that we can’t talk about it. If you are suffering, call a friend or family today. We must save each other,”

She later apologized to her previous tweet and assumption.

Out of respect for Rick’s family, Rick & his legacy, I apologize if I spoke too soon as there were no witnesses or evidence to support any conclusion for the cause of his death. I in no way meant to draw an unjust conclusion My deepest condolences to his entire family and friends.

His family believes that Rick’s death was accidental and had died after he fell from the balcony.

Born on August 7, 1985, was one of the popular Canadian artists, actors, and fashion models. His parent’s name hasn’t been disclosed. His height is around 5 feet 10 inches. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He died at a very early age. Due to his frustration with his sickness, he ended his life on August 2nd, 2018 in his Montreal apartment. It is said that it was a suicide. Many of his close friends who are celebrities are shocked by his death.

Rick Genest started-off his career as a “freakshow performer” across Canada. He had his first public appearance in March 2008, when he got interviewed by Shannon Larratt. Tattoos were very common in the culture he grew up in and so through his tattoos, he got to know by the public in November 2006 when he was mentioned in a blog post on BME’s ModBlog by Shannon Larratt.

Then in June 2008, he got to appear on “Bizzare” magazine, and in 2009 he was seen at a scene of carnival in a movie name “Carny”. Rick Genest rose to fame when he appeared in hit video song “Born This Way” by great singer Lady Gaga in 2011. Lady Gaga’s fashion director Nicola Formichetti found Rick on social media as one of fan-made Rick’s fan page about his interesting choice of tattoos on Facebook on March 5, 2010.

The fan page was able to garner more than 1.5 million followers within a year of its creation. It was the turning point in Rick’s life, he even got a great chance to feature as a Model in Autumn/Winter Men’s Collection by Thierry Mugler on February 27, 2011, and later appeared alongside Lady Gaga in Women’s 2011 Autumn/Winter Collection.

He also featured in a campaign for a concealer product “Go Beyond The Cover” in late 2011 and the same year he became first-ever male to be a spokesperson for L’Oreal. In 2012, a limited edition (400 toys) figure signed by Rick Genest as “Rico the Zombie” named “Zombie Boy” was produced for San Diego Comic-Con and were sold eventually.
