Robert Helenius is a Sweden-born-Finnish professional boxer. He is a former European heavyweight champion who has held the title twice between 2011 and 2016.

Robert Helenius was born Robert Gabriel Helenius on 2 January 1984 in Stockholm, Sweden to father Karl Helenius and mother Stina Helenius. His star sign Capricorn. His nickname is The Nordic Nightmare. He was raised in Finland, he holds both Finnish and Swedish nationality.
Robert Helenius grew up along with his two brothers: Peter Helenius and Niklas Helenius. He lived in Sweden until the age of two. When he was 5 years old, he started training boxing under his father.

When he was 5 years old, Helenius began training boxing under his father and won the bronze medal in 2000 at the European “cadets” (U 17) championships in Patras. In the game, he lost to Croatian Mario Preskar. In 2001 he earned another bronze, losing to hard-hitting Russian Islam Timurziev at the Junior European Championships in Sarajevo.
Unfortunately, he lost to eventual gold medallist Janne Katajisto at the 2001 Finnish Amateur Boxing Championships in the first round in the super heavyweight division. After a year, Katajisto defeated Helenius in the final.
In 2002 he participated in the Junior World Championships in Santiago de Cuba but, unfortunately, he failed in the first tournament round.
In 2005, Helenius beat David Price on points but then lost to Rustam Saidov. Similarly, in 2006, at the 2006 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Plovdiv, he finished second, again beaten by Timurziev.
Although he was injured in training, he participated in the 2007 World Amateur Championships in Chicago.
In 2008, he turned pro to fight for Germany’s Wilfried Sauerland. Since then, he has been trained by Ulli Wegner. Furthermore, in 2009 Helenius knocked out former British heavyweight champion Scott Gammer. in January 2010, he won the ex-WBO title holder Lamon Brewster. Similarly, he defeated Gbenga Oloukun on 26 March 2010 in Helsinki. Likewise, on August 21, 2010, he won the fight against Gregory Tony for the vacant EBU.
In 2011, he had a ligament injury and had to rest for almost a year.
Also, he won the vacant European Championship title (EBU) on 3 December 2011, by beating Dereck Chisora. Furthermore, he faced Mateus Roberto Osorio on 30 November 2019, in Narva, Estonia. He squared off against undefeated Adam Kownacki on 7 March 2020, in a WBA title eliminator
