Even after that, he struggled to keep himself alive, and fortunately, the probation officer saw Ross and immediately called for help. After a while, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but the doctors pronounced him dead upon his arrival at the hospital.

But they kept doing their hardest, and eventually, after three days of surgery, his consciousness came. After five days, Capicchioni was released from the hospital and went back home. In addition, the FBI soon identified the murderer. As the gunman said, he was trying to get into the gang, and he had to prove it by killing someone. So, he chose Ross to do that.

As of now, Capicchioni has been living a normal life since becoming a survivor of a cruel crime. In addition, his story was made in a two-minute documentary by Aberrican Me: Ross Capicchioni, produced by Eric Koston and Steve Berra.
