Steele started her career in the year 1995 as a news producer and reporter from the company, WSBT-TV, the CBS affiliate which is located in South Bend, Indiana. She worked here for a couple of years and switched to CBS affiliate WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1997, as a weekend morning sports anchor and weekday reporter.

She is not much interested in politics, so she tracked her career towards sports. She was a sports reporter at ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa, Florida in 1988, and her co-star was Jay Crawford and Scott Hanson. She has also served as a reporter in Fox Sports Florida.

Other companies in which she has worked in are Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic from 2001 to 2007. In 2007, she joined ESPN. She also hosted 2017 & 2018, Miss America pageant along with Chris Harrison. We’re going to tell the whole story or the main story, and that’s harder to get on your phone.”

Sage was born in the year 1972, in the Panama Canal Zone. Her mother’s name is Mona and father’s name is Gary Steele. She is of mixed(African-American and Irish/Italian) ethnicity and her nationality is American. She has two brothers, Courtney and Chad. Her brother Chad is the vice president of media relations for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens.

She was from an Army family background, hence she was raised in different parts of the world. When she was 12 years old, she was passionate to be inside the television.

Talking about her educational background, she attended Thomas B. Doherty High School. For her senior year, she joined Carmel High School and graduated in 1990.
