Aziz Ansari-a name which is the new addition to the list of sexual offenders. Unlike the previous offenders, Aziz Ansari’s case was not in the workplace. It was on a date and as the victim describes was a shocking, dreadful, and painful experience for her. The story of Grace-the sufferer highlights the hypocrisy of Aziz Ansari who overtly poses as a pro-feminist male but in private life is something else. The narration by the victim
On 13 January 2018, website Baba.net ran a story about a woman called Grace (name changed for privacy and safety reasons), 23 who talked about her experience on being on a date with comedian, actor, and filmmaker, Aziz Ansari. She said that she had a horrid experience and at the end of it felt that it was actually a sexual assault on her.
In September 2017, she had gone on a date night with Aziz. Little did she know what was in store for her that night? Seeing his comedy shows and reading about him, she was under the impression that he is a person who respects woman and would not violate them. She said:
“It was by far the worst experience with a man I’ve ever had,”
emphasizing that at the end of it, she came to know that it was actually a sexual assault. Her excitement to meeting him turned into a discomfort when Aziz started shooting aggressive advances towards her. He deliberately ignored her visible discomfort and pressurized her into sex. Grace did as told to not knowing how to slip out of the situation but soon ended up in tears as she left the apartment.

Aziz’s version of the story
While Grace maintained and said:
“I was not expecting a bad night at all, much less a violating night and a painful one.”
Aziz quickly on 14 January released a statement stating that he has been wrongly accused and that the sex was a consensual one. The narration by the woman is so much against the feminist persona that Aziz had time and again put up in front of the public. As regards the popular reactions, well! The reactions were mixed. On SNL, the discussion was in the form of a dinner conversation.

Aziz Ansari is a 34-year-old celebrity star who was born on 23 February 1983 in Columbia, South Carolina. His family is from Tamil Nadu, India and he is a Muslim by religion. His mother Fatimah is in a medical office while his father Shoukath is a gastroenterologist. It is not known whether he has any siblings. His raising was in Bennettsville, South Carolina where he studied at the Marlboro Academy. He was also a student of the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics. He did a major in marketing from the New York University’s Stern School of Business.
He began his career at the local theaters and soon started his career as a stand-up comedian and on awards in that capacity. He collaborated with fellow actors and comedians to make short films. These include Shutterbugs and Illusionators. In 2006, he was cast in NBC’s show called Parks and Recreation for which he was praised immensely by critics.
