Shawn Killinger was born on 2 November 1979 and this was in Detroit, Michigan. She is now 38 years old. Her middle name is Elizabeth. During her childhood days, she enjoyed dancing and acting and used to perform at the local theater.

Due to her father’s job, the family relocated to Mexico when she was 11. She learned Spanish there and became fluent in it.

She was at the International American School Foundation. She then joined Penn State University and graduated with a degree in Marketing. She traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to work with the International Labor Organization there and also the World Health Organization.

After her 1997 graduation, she moved to New York City and joined the prestigious CBS Page Program. She was the set assistant and used to run scripts for Dan Rather for the ‘Evening News’. She also was with the Late Show with David Letterman where she would assist with the seating arrangements of the audience members.

She then was promoted and became the assistant producer for CBS News Foreign Desk. She then decided to come and face the camera and became a reporter and anchor. She was with Fox News and CBS in Florida and New York. She worked as a newscaster for 10 years in the local and network news. She also worked as a morning host and entertainment host for an affiliate in Orlando, Florida.

Shawn was embroiled in various controversies. In January 2015, she and designer Isaac Mizrahi were promoting a cardigan line and in between, they argued on-air on whether Moon was a planet or a star. The audience was amused at this and it was talked about a lot on the internet and social media. Their arguments were heading nowhere and the viewers were only more amused.

On 27 June 2016, a petition was filed on the consumer advocacy website which asked for the removal of the ‘egomaniacal’ ‘Shawnie Sue’ persona as host of the show. It was viewed 24K times and had more than 200 comments with varied opinions.

Shawn is married to consultant Joe Caretta and she had met him through a dating app. She shares her life details with her fans and also talked about her struggles with conception. She was out of the program for many months and later it was known that she had a miscarriage and the fetus was 5 months old and a female.

Joe was married before and has two sons from that marriage. Shawn and Joe have adopted a daughter named Jagger Jude in June 2017.
