Who is Alvaro Soler?
Barcelona-born Spanish singer Alvaro Soler is now an international name in the music industry. He has got world-wide fame mainly due to his single titled “El Mismo Sol”. His gave follow-up single also was a chartbuster and provided him with additional fame.

Alvaro Soler’s birth, family, and childhood
Alvaro was born on 9 January 1991 in Barcelona, Spain. His father is of German descent while his mother has Spanish and Belgian roots. He migrated with his parents to Japan from the age of 10 to 17 years. While in Japan, he started taking his training in piano classes.
While back in Barcelona, he founded his own musical band called ‘Urban Lights’. The band included his brother and friends.
The band gained fame locally and used to perform British pop, indie pop, and some electronic music. The band won a music contest at the university level. In 213, they appeared in the Spanish music contest titled ‘¡Tú sí que vales! ‘and reached the final 8. The band released some albums.
He took up an industrial design course at Escuela de Grafismo Elisava and also continued to study music.
Alvaro Soler’s career
While Alvaro was studying music, he also took up some modeling jobs thanks to his good looks which helped him in procuring such modeling assignments. He then left the Urban Lights band and decided to go solo. He migrated to Germany and settled in Berlin. It was here that he released his first single “El Mismo sol” which was co-written by Soler and Ali Zuckowski with Simon Triebel.
It was released in 2015 and became number 1 hit in Italy. It was certified double platinum. It also attained high positions on charts of Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Talking about this single, Alvaro said:
“It actually all came together naturally,”
He added:
“It was this friend’s group that developed into something more than we expected. When I left the band I feel like I jumped into the professional world. Because with Urban Lights, I wasn’t living from music.”
He had attended a camp in Austria where the German’s Budde Music was looking for a Spanish musician who could speak English and had a good voice. So when Alvaro landed there, he signed him to do the song for them.
After this Pan-European hit, Soler released his first solo album called Eterno Agosto in 2015 via Universal Music. In 2016, he was one of the Judges on the Italian version of X Factor. He also performed at music awards functions. He Also collaborated with Polish singer Monika and also with Morat. His single Sofia released in 2016 was also a hit and made it to the top in most of the world music charts.
He has been nominated for several coveted European and Latin American music awards and has also won three of them; two in 2015 and one in 2017.
Alvaro Soler’s music breaks all man-made country barriers and has put him on the global music map. He has also done his country proud and is continuing to make good and soul music which all can enjoy!

Alvaro Soler is not married and has no wife. He had some past relationships. It is said that the song ‘Sofia’ is about his past girlfriend called Maria. It is believed widely that he is single now. He has not been seen in public spaces with a girlfriend. But one cannot rule out a secretive relationship which is yet not declared by him.
