Stephanie Birkitt was born as Stephanie Anne Birkitt on 7 January 1975 in Plymouth, New Hampshire. She is aged 43 now. Her father was a dentist and her mother worked as an assistant principal. She has a younger brother named Johnny who is a producer on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
Stephanie was at the Wake Forest University situated in Winston-Salem in North Carolina and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history in the year 1997 and her minor was in communications. After a gap of few years, Stephanie took up to study law at the Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and obtained a Juris Doctor degree in June 2008. She cleared her New York State and Connecticut bar examination in February 2009. Since 2011 she is licensed to practice law in California. In 2009, she also has obtained a license to do her law practice in Connecticut. ;

Stephanie began her TV career with CBS where she had started working even before she completed her college. She used to intern at 48 Hours and also did some internship for Late Show in 1996.

After completion of her Bachelor’s course, Stephanie worked as an associate producer for 48 Hours. She then applied in the office of David Letterman and assisted with his charities and car racing team. In May 1996 she appeared for the first time on the show Late Show with David Letterman. After a gap of 4 years, since 2000 she has been a regular on the show. Stephanie had said:
“He started talking to me more, and we developed a rapport.”
She also reported from Winter Olympics 2002 and 2006. She also co-hosted The Tony Mendez Show. In 2004, she had described her relations with David Letterman as a playful one and in 2009 she had proceeded on a paid leave from the show. Her net worth is unknown.

On 1 October 2009, it was revealed by David Letterman on-air that he has been blackmailed by someone stating that he has proofs that David had sexual encounters with several female employees. David confessed that the allegation levied on him was true but he would not disclose the names of the female employees. The police started the investigation and it was found that the blackmailer was Stephanie’s boyfriend Joe Halderman who had managed to get access to her emails, messages, and other papers of her affair with David Letterman and had tried to use it to his advantage. But Stephanie was cleared of this extortion attempt.
It was learned that Stephanie was in a live-in relationship with Joe and also was cheating on him with her boss David. Joe was sentenced to 6 months of jail. As regards Stephanie’s current relationship, there is no information. She is probably single and also has no children yet.
