Robert Irwin breaks down after reading the letter his father Steve Irwin saved for his 19th birthday!
Emotional father-son moment! Rober Irwin received a special message from his late father, Steve Irwin on his birthday. Steve Irwin earned his name by being famous as a crocodile hunter and he lost his life in the same work. Earlier this month, Robert celebrated his 19th birthday at the Australian zoo.
There was a huge crowd surrounding the birthday boy when his mom, Terri Irwin played a compilation video of his father. It was the compilation of the past birthday celebrations which made the young zookeeper emotional and sad. Among the birthday wishes from his family, friends, and celebrities, his late father also appeared.

Steve in the videos was talking about the spark of light at the time Bobby was born. He was showing videos of Steve and introducing the baby to the zoo visitors. He also mentioned that apart from his hard work in saving wildlife, he was there to be a father to his child.
“This is why I was put here because I could be dead tomorrow,” he said in the video, adding that he needed his kids to grow up quickly “so this little bloke’s going to have to catch the crocs with Bindi.”
After hearing the words coming out from his father, he turned to his mother bursting with tears who was constantly rubbing his arms. The video then featured the teenage boy running the family zoo over the years. He was there continuing the mission of his father.
“Then and only then will I know I have achieved my ultimate goal and my job will be done and I guarantee you it’ll be the proudest moment of my life,” Steve said in the video which left Robert to burst in more tears.

Steve says that he might die one day so his kids need to grow up quickly to continue his mission. Moreover, he says that after that only he will feel that he has reached the goal and that will be a proud moment as a dad.
After the video ended, Robert, the zookeeper says that it was impossible not to get emotional after seeing his dad giving essence like alive. He also thanked everyone and mentioned it means the absolute world to him. He believes that he is way privileged to continue the legacy of his late father.
“It means the absolute world … I just think it’s such a privilege, personally and as a family, to continue the legacy of dad,” he said. “He gave his life, quite literally, for wildlife conservation and to make the world a better place.”
Steve actually gave up his life for the conservation of life. Robert is very grateful to continue this conservation from his dad. Steve lost his life in the year 2006.
He was stung by a short-tail stingray in the chest while he was filming a television show. Also at the time, he was married to Terri in 1992.
The couple shared two kids with each other Bindi and Robert. Bindi was seven years old while Robert was just 2 years old when Steve passed away.
