Nicknamed The Young Gun, reality TV actor Jarrod Schulz shot in fame after he was part of the A&E Network Television series ‘Storage Wars’. He has been with the show since its inception and has appeared in every season of the show. Jarrod doubles up as a fashion designer and entrepreneur. How does Jarrod manage all these activities? Jarrod Schulz’s early jobs
It has not been a smooth ride for Jarrod. He began his career working in a sales office in the capacity of a manager. The company was a carpet-cleaning firm and was situated in Tustin, CA. Jarrod switched to his own mortgage business in the early 2000s.
But he could not do well and this business collapsed within a few years. Jarrod had no employment and found it difficult to sustain himself.
Chance comes his way-Storage Wars
When Jarrod was facing financial difficulties in his life, one of his aunts came forward to help him. She was in charge of managing a public storage facility. Whenever any storage was not claimed for any reason, it was auctioned, this was the terms and conditions of the public storage facility. Jarrod’s aunt, whose name is not known, asked Jarrod to take part in the auctions of the storages and earn in the process.
Jarrod heeded her advice and opened a second-hand article store called ‘Now and Then’ in Orange County, CA. His girlfriend, Brandi too joined him. His business was just about picking up when Jarrod met the producers of the TV show ‘Storage Wars’ when he was attending an auction in Harbor City. He came to be aware of their planning of the show for the first time. This was his first contact with them.
There was a silent phase of 8 months between the two parties before the producers requested his permission to shoot footage of his store for the first season in 2010. Jarrod agreed but Brandi managed to procure a permanent position in the show.
The show now also highlights their various bidding sessions and the sales that they carry out of the items gained during the bidding. Jarrod and Brandi have fared well and had earned some money by their successful biddings and the sale of the proceeds obtained. They had started a second store in Long Beach which later was closed. Explaining his decision for the closure, Jarrod had said at that time:
“Brandi and I have come to a decision. We can no longer fund this losing store here. We’re gonna have to close the doors. We’re gonna do our best to keep you on. Some of you will lose hours and some have to lose your jobs. We tried to make it work, we gave 100%. We’re not failing because we didn’t try.”
Jarrod and fashion designing
Jarrod is known more for his store and Storage Wars due to his TV appearances for it. But not many know that he owns clothes designing business called Outlaw Apparel which has been running since 2002 in partnership with a friend.
What started as a home venture went on to take a global turn and the duo now design clothes for men, women, and children. Due to Jarrod’s appearance on the show, the business has got a boost. His wardrobe while on the show Storage Wars also belong to his own company. Great! He was also cast in a music video of Storage Wars. He is said to have a net worth of around $ 1.5 million.
Jarrod’s early inquisitive beginnings
Jarrod who was born on 15 October 1977 in Long Beach, CA always had an inquisitive mind. He would dismantle cars and other toys and try to understand how they work. As Jarrod grew up, he developed a new fascination for lockers and safes. Learning this skill, he thought, was akin to gambling and he also had few run-ins with the law due to it. He was also caught in 1997 in possession of a prohibited drug and served 16 months in jail.

Jarrod’s personal life
Jarrod and Brandi Passante met in 1999 when the two were at the carpet-cleaning company. They liked each other and their courtship began. They have been together working on different projects and now also on the TV show.
They complement each other; Jarrod takes risks but lacks in sense of business and it is the latter area where Brandi excels. The couple is together and not married. They have two children; son Cameron and daughter Peyton. It seems a complete and happy family!
