Joakim Simon Noah is a former professional basketball player who is French-American and played for 13 seasons in the NBA.

When he played for the Chicago Bulls, he established himself in the NBA.

Joakim, commonly known as Jo, was a fantastic player to watch and won several NBA All-Star awards with the Bulls.

About Joakim Noah |  Family and Education

The sporty Noah family raised Joakim Simon in New York City.

When she was Miss Sweden in 1978, Cécilia Rodhe finished as the fourth runner-up in Miss Universe.

His father, 1983 French Open champion and former world No. 3 tennis player Yannick Noah was also a singer.

Moving on, Zacharie Noah, a Cameroonian football player who played professionally, won the Coupe de France in 1961.

His three siblings included two sisters, Yélena and Jénayé, and a brother, Joalukas.

When the Bulls defeated the Nets in the 2013 NBA Playoffs, one of Noah’s sisters, Yélena, enjoyed a special moment with him and went on to become a model.

In 1988, Noah and his family moved to Paris, France, but when he was 13 years old, he moved back to New York City.

Throughout his high school career, Noah attended the United Nations International School, Poly Prep Country Day School, and Lawrenceville School.

Professional Life and Career

Noach started playing college basketball for the Florida Gators in 2004 after receiving an athletic scholarship from the University of Florida.

Under the guidance of Billy Donovan, he participated in the Gators.

Noah averaged 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 9.4 minutes of playing time per game during his freshman season.

Despite a rocky start to his career, Noah took over for Al Horford in his second season and made a significant contribution right away. He scored 14.2 points and had 2.4 blocks per game.

Jo had continued to improve his game by the time the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament came to an end, and he had declared for the 2006 NBA Draft.

The Florida Gators won the national championship in 2006–07, thus Noah ultimately decided to remain with his team for the junior season.

Noah scored 26 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and made 5 blocks against top-seeded Villanova. His effort earned him the title of Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament.

He had 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocks in the NCAA basketball championship game between the Florida Gators and the UCLA Bruins.

First Season

The Chicago Bulls selected Noah with the ninth overall choice in the 2007 NBA Draft.

The most highly selected group of players from a single college in NBA history was Noah’s Florida teammates Corey Brewer and Al Horford.

Coming off the bench, Noah had two points and four rebounds in his first game of the season. Sadly, in January, his teammates unanimously decided to suspend him.

In his rookie season, Noah averaged 7.6 rebounds and 6.7 points per game.

Due to an injury, Noah’s second season saw him appear in just 64 games. In contrast, he had a season-high average of 10.7 points and 11.0 rebounds.

Noah eventually developed a 14.8 point and 13.0 rebound per game average in the playoffs.

Sadly, with his team’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the postseason, Noah’s postseason run came to an end.

Jo spent two seasons playing for the Bulls before deciding on a $60 million, five-year contract.

Noah’s subsequent season did not go well because of hand ligament damage that required surgery and a ten-week hiatus off the field.

But in February, he returned for the Bulls, and in the final 24 minutes, he had 7 points and 16 rebounds.

Noah is the only member of the Bulls to achieve a triple-double since Artis Gilmore’s feat against the Milwaukee Bucks in 1977.

Moving forward with Chicago Bulls

During the 2012–13 NBA season, Noah accomplished a lot. Against the Detroit Lions, he set a career-high with 30 points and 23 rebounds.

and scored the second double of his career, which included a career-high ten assists, to help them overcome the Boston Celtics.

A Bulls player was chosen for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game reserves for the first time since 1982.

Despite playing for only 16 minutes, he still managed to grab 10 rebounds and score 8 points.

Jo joined a limited group of players, including greats like Shaquille O’Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and many others, who have achieved a triple-double of 20-20-10 in terms of points, rebounds, and blocks.

To set this record, he shot a field goal percentage of 65%.

Noah averaged 13.9 rebounds during the 2013–14 season, going on an 18-game stretch of 10 or more.

This season, he was once more selected as a reserve for the NBA All-Star Game. By participating for the full fourth quarter and scoring 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, he contributed to the East’s victory.

The only player with 13 assists since Vlade Divac in 1996, he broke the record for having 10+ assists in three consecutive games set by Brad Miller.

Noah’s 16 assists against the Knicks were the most for the Bulls since 1986. And against the Detroit Pistons, he recorded his sixth triple-double in his professional career.

Similarly, Noah received 120 assists in total in March 2014.

Noah became the second Bulls player after Michae Jordan to win NBA Defensive Player of the Year for the first time in his career. Noah was the initial recipient of this distinction.

After sitting out the last two seasons, Noah was selected to the 2014 All-NBA first team.

The previous year with the Bulls

The first 12 games of Noah’s final season saw him sit on the bench, and he eventually lost his starting spot to Nikola Miroti.

However, when given the chance to play, he put up a career-high 21 points and ten rebounds, becoming the Bulls’ all-time leader on the offensive glass. He was superior to Horace Grant.

Jo missed numerous games this season because of problems with his shoulder. He needed surgery because his shoulder wasn’t functioning properly and needed to be stabilized.

Brooklyn Nets

In 2016, Noah signed a four-year, $72 million contract to play for his hometown team, the New York Knicks.

He had high hopes, but as it turned out, this was the worst signing in the franchise’s history, and it caused him to go through a trying time in his life.

The Frenchman first needed a knee arthroscopy to get rid of a loose body.

After he had recovered, things got even worse for him since he had broken the league’s anti-drug code and was given a 20-game suspension.

He was under suspension for the first 10 games of the following season as he was still healing from a knee injury.

In his debut season with the Knicks, Noah played a total of three minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers.

His predicament worsened when, as a result of a verbal dispute with the Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek, he was fired from the team.

The stretch-provision clause was waived by the Knicks, which was unfortunate for Noah because they released him.

Tennessee Grizzlies

After being released by the Knicks, Noah joined the Memphis Grizzlies. His contributions to the team’s triumph over the New Orleans Pelicans included 19 points and 19 rebounds.

Clippers of Los Angeles

Jo committed to the Clippers on a 10-day contract for the 2020 campaign, which was later upgraded to a multi-year agreement in June. The Clippers waived him, nevertheless, soon after he agreed to his contract.

In March 2021, Noah will retire after a tough couple of years.

The Chicago Bulls, his first professional team, recognizes him as an ambassador for the group by hosting a “Joakin Noah Night” in his honor.

National Group

Even though Noah could have played for a variety of foreign teams, he chose to sign up with the senior French basketball team.

He competed in the EuroBasket in 2011 for the French team. Unfortunately, he was hurt and was unable to travel to London for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Michael Bibby is a former basketball player and coach from the United States. He was a member of the National Basketball Association for 14 seasons. Bibby was the previous head coach at Hillcrest Prep Academy in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mike Bibby | Early Life, Family, And Education

In Cherry Hill, New Jersey, on May 13, 1978, Michael Bibby was Born. He was raised by Henry Bibby, a well-known former NBA player.

His father, NBA player Henry Bibby, played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Jazz, and New York Knicks among other NBA teams.

Contrarily, Trinidad and Tobago is the native country of Mike’s mother, Virginia Bibby. The Caribbean Sea contains a small island nation.

Mike’s mother was regrettably his only caregiver after his parents got divorced.  Mike’s Father was so preoccupied with his career that Mike hardly ever saw him.

Mike used to blame the father for causing problems and making life difficult for his mother and him even though the father and son never spoke to each other.

Even though the son and father lived in different cities, basketball was something that brought them together.

Mike inherited his father’s basketball skills and passion, and he quickly rose to become one of the best basketball players in his school. Bibby realized he wanted to play in the NBA like his father.

Mike joined Shadow Mountain High School and the University of Arizona for his education. He did, however, drop out of college to enter the 1998 NBA draft.

Following the conclusion of his NBA career, Bibby enrolled in and graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in multidisciplinary studies.

Bibby | Career

Mike Bibby played basketball for Shadow Mountain High School’s high school team. He assisted the team in winning the Arizona state championship as the point guard.

Later, he played basketball for the Wildcats while he was a student at the University of Arizona. As a freshman, Bibby scored 19 points in the extra session to help the Wildcats win the 1997 NCAA championship.

In addition, He was also named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 1997.

Aside from this, Bibby and his father are one of only four father-son teams to win an American basketball coach basketball championship.

He was chosen as the Pac-10 Player of the Year in his sophomore season, which was remarkable. He took part in 69 games.

The Professional Career of Mike Bibby

Mike Bibby was shortlisted by the Vancouver Grizzlies in the second round of the 1998 NBA Draft.

For his NBA debut, Bibby joined the Vancouver Grizzles. Even though he was a rookie, his outstanding play earned him a spot on the NBA All-Rookie first team in 1999.

Despite being a fantastic player, Bibby was acquired in a trade by the Sacramento Kings. He played for the Kings for seven seasons, and he made a significant impact on the team.

In his first season with Sacramento, Bibby and Chris Webber established themselves as one of the league’s greatest teams. The two contributed to the Kings finishing 61-21 in the NBA and winning the Pacific division.

As a result of Bibby’s outstanding play throughout the series, he was recognized as a clutch player and given a massive 7-year, $80.5 million contract. The deal was the most expensive of his career.

Later, he participated in basketball for the Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks before declaring his playing career over in 2012.

Career in Coaching

Typically, most NBA players transition into coaching after their retirement. Mike Bibby was the same.

However, he started by coaching his son Michael Jr. He was then hired to work as the basketball assistant coach at Shadow Mountain High School in 2013.

The head coach, Conner, was Bibby’s high school coach. The first year Bibby served as an assistant coach, the school won the state title.

Conner, the team’s head coach, resigned, leaving Bibby in charge. He was the team’s independent leader even though he wasn’t the designated head coach.

But after he was accused of sexual harassment by a teacher at Shadow Mountain High, where he had just taken the head coaching job, his coaching career hit rock bottom.

The accusations caused him to lose his position as a basketball coach at Shadow Mountain High. The teacher was unable to back up her claims, so Bibby was not charged.

In October 2019, Hillcrest Prep hired Bibby as their head coach, and he served in that capacity for ten games before announcing his retirement.

David Lattin is a veteran basketball athlete. He started at center guard for something like the Texas Miners during their 1966 NCAA championship season.

Likewise, He started at center for several NBA and ABA clubs. Throughout his career, he went by the moniker “Big Daddy D.”

Who is Dave Lattin? Childhood, Parents, Nationality

Let’s start with the basics: Dave was conceived on the 23rd of December, 1943, to his single mother, Elsie, in Houston, Texas. It’s sad but true that his father abandoned him at the age of just 6 years old in 1949.

The circumstances surrounding his father’s life and the cause of his death, however, are still unclear. Elsie always supported him in every situation.

While Dave’s father abandoned him and this planet when he was a young child, his mother assumed all of the obligations and never fell behind in carrying out his parental tasks.

His mother was always encouraging, although she was unaware of the game. She didn’t say a word; she simply stood there by him. Even though she didn’t attend any of his games, she still morally supported him.

Only once, when he was playing for the Globetrotters, did Dave’s mother watch him play (Harlem Globetrotters).

In addition, Dave’s mother was more concerned with his enjoyment than the game at all. Likewise, David Lattin holds American nationality.

Education

Dave attended secondary and primary schools in Houston before completing his high school education there in 1963 at Evan E. Worthing High School. Before that, he attended Attucks Middle School and Crispus Attucks High School.

Dave was able to gain a wealth of expertise thanks to this since in his eleventh-grade year, he became the very first higher education institution All-American.

Not to add, he was the first basketball high school All-American in the state of Texas.

How did Dave Lattin start his Career?

College Career

One more platform where you may develop your foundation, presumably a solid one, after graduating from high school is throughout your college years. Likely due to a lack of challenging competition, Dave departed Tennessee state in 1964.

Dave relocated back to Houston, participated in the AAU, and then, in 1965, he enrolled in Texas College on a full scholarship. He participated in the NCAA Division 1 Miners team there.

Under the direction of Coach Don Haskins, the Miners won the Division 1 NCAA National Title in 1966 with five black regular starters. In the years 1966 as well as 1967, he garnered All-American recognition.

His life changed dramatically at that very time, and the victory permitted the institutions to practice outstanding racial equality in athletics.

After all, they won the 1966 finals by defeating the all-white Kentucky squad.

NBA draft

After graduating from Texas Western College in 1967, Dave was selected as the tenth overall pick by the San Francisco Warriors in the NBA League.

Later, as the 443rd overall choice in the 1967 NFL Draft, he was chosen by the Kansas Chiefs of the AFL.

Dave was hired there primarily to perform wide receiver. Following that, he played for something like the Memphis Tams, Pittsburgh Condors, and Phoenix Suns.

His playing career ended in 1976 with the Harlem Globe, not nearly a decade after it began.

Post Basketball Career

Dave may have chosen to pursue basketball, but he was eager to discover the other talents that lay dormant within him. That furthers the development of academic excellence.

Dave went back to school and finished the play with the Harlem Globe Trotters before receiving his B.S. in business administration. Additionally, he started several profitable businesses, including Your Maison Housing.

In 2007, Dave has also admitted into the Naismith Lifetime Hall Of fame as well as the Texan Black Sports Hall of Fame.

Dave keeps his relationship status a secret when it relates to his personal life. Concerning his former girlfriend or spouse, nothing was discovered online.

Nevertheless, according to sources, he also has a daughter as well as a son.

Dave Lattin is a passionate grandfather who enjoys seeing flashes of his childhood in his grandson Khadeem Lattin. The Northern Arizona Phoenix forward Khadeem was conceived on the 19th of April of the year 1995.

Dave was among 5 African-American athletes who garnered attention for his fastbreak layup against Kentucky in the year 1966 Division I NCAA Championship.

Although it was widely known that Texas was the underdogs versus No. 1 Kentucky, they openly handled the game. They were capable of remaining composed and aggressive throughout the match.

Furthermore, Dave wants to instill in Khadeem a similar sense of fervor and enthusiasm for the sport. They still talk on the phone and text one another. But his mom is only a few steps away from offering counsel.

Thus, why not? Khadeem’s mom named Monica Lamb-Powell, was an accomplished basketball player shortly after she and Khadeem’s dad, Cliff Lattin, split up in the year 1996.

The first NBA player to surpass 20,000 points was a former American basketball player named Bob Pettit. He decided to quit in 1965 after a lengthy basketball career.

Bob had a prosperous NBA career after beginning to play basketball at a young age. The early stages of his career, however, were not as successful due to a rocky start.

Bob’s father used to have him practice in the Kemmerlys’ backyard until he improved his basketball skills because Bob had a lifelong passion for the game.

In addition, Bob attended a straightforward religious school and had a typical childhood. He did, however, receive all the necessities, and as a child, he didn’t experience many hardships.

Bob had the same ideal height; in fact, it ended up being a positive for him.

Bob’s family members served as one of their primary sources of inspiration for him. Bob’s family members were constantly encouraging, which provided him a lot of strength to perform at his highest level.

However, as a freshman and a sophomore, Bob had to suffer in the early going.

But eventually, after a ton of practice, Bob was chosen to participate in the North-South all-star game.

Professional Life and Career

As was already said, Bob developed a passion for basketball at a very young age.

He wasn’t initially thought of as a decent player, but after years of practice and dedication, he became one of the finest players in the school.

Following his transfer to LSU, he led the Southeastern Conference in scoring with an average of 25.5 points per game in three straight games.

His outstanding performance in his junior year earned him selection to the All-SEC and All-American teams, which was an honor.

Therefore, the coach had to change Bob’s position from the center position at LSU, and during his training sessions, the Coach shifted him into a forward position.

But Bob found it difficult to settle into his new role. As a rookie in the NBA, others had similar reservations about Bob’s performance.

Despite having a successful high school basketball career, he had any professional basketball experience.
