A retired American professional basketball player named Austin Nathan Croshere spent his 12-year career with the National Basketball Association. He began working as a television analyst for the Pacers in 2010.

Early Life, and Family

On May 1st, 1975, Austin Croshere was born in Los Angeles, California. The identities of his parents have not yet been revealed. Croshere, 45, is now back in his hometown after nearly 16 years in Indianapolis. Magic Johnson was a childhood hero for Croshere.

Austin Croshere made the decision to enter the 1997 NBA draft following the conclusion of his collegiate career. Tim Duncan, a former teammate of his from the USA, was chosen first overall by the Spurs. Croshere was ultimately chosen in a lottery as the 13th overall pick.

Croshere made his NBA debut against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 20th, 1997, however, he was unable to record any points.

The 1999–2000 season was the best in terms of scoring and rebounds. He played in 81 games that season, averaging 10.3 points and 6.4 assists.

In a 111-102 victory over the Houston Rockets on March 17, 2000, the American player recorded an outstanding double-double with a season-high 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Eastern Conference Final

Croshere once again rose to the position of importance on the squad after the hiring of defensive-minded coach Rick Carlisle for the upcoming campaign.

He contributed 4.8 PPG and 3.1 APG during the playoffs to help the Celtics advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. But the eventual champion Pistons beat them in the end.

In 26 games during the 2005–06 season, Croshere started (career-best). He played in 50 games that season, averaging 8.2 points and 3.0 rebounds.

New Team

On July 5, 2006, the Pacers exchanged Croshere for Marquis Daniels from the Dallas Mavericks. Croshere had a career-high 34 points on January 30, 2007, in a 122-102 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics.

During his lone season with Dallas, he averaged 3.7 PPG and 2.4 APG in 61 games.

After joining the Warriors, he failed to advance further in the playoffs after 1999. Croshere averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 assists for the Warriors.

Career-Ending

Larry Bird invited Croshere to the Pacers’ training camp in the preseason of 2008–09, but he was not selected for the team. Later, on October 27, he joined Bucks.

But on January 6th, 2009, Croshere was released after only 11 games, in which he averaged 3.3 points and 2.2 rebounds.

Later, on January 16, 2009, Austin agreed to a 10-day deal with the Spurs. Sadly, his agreement was not renewed. Croshere was then released on January 26th after participating in 3 games and scoring 4 points.

He played in the NBA for 12 seasons, scoring 4,475 points (6.8 PPG), pulling down 2,649 rebounds (4.0 RPG), and dishing out 627 assists (1.0APG). Throughout his career, Croshere primarily served as an important role player for clubs.
