Early Life and Education

On June 16, 1980, Brad Gushue was born in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. He grew up in a house with his parents, sister, and other family members.

As a youngster, he excelled in a number of sports due to his natural athletic ability. He saw curling on television and was persuaded to try it. Brad begged his parents to let him take part in the curling training as well.

Brad didn’t take part in the 1998 World Junior Championships, though. He won gold in the World Junior Championships and the Canadian Juniors in 2001.

He and his daughter participated in the mixed doubles championship in 2020.

Brier Tournaments

Brad’s professional career was highlighted by his appearances in the Brier Tournaments. He has so far participated in 18 Briers as a representative of his native Newfoundland and Labrador.

Brad’s smooth transition into the professional teams was the result of an outstanding junior career. In 2003, when he first earned a spot in the Nokia Brier, he finished 6-5.

2018 Winter Olympics
