Mom’s alike, Monroe proved by joining her mother Mariah Carey on stage, that she is walking in her footsteps. The mother-daughter duo performed for the first time on the stage and both looked alike. Mariah invited her daughter to perform with her at her “Merry Christmas to All” show in Toronto. They both sang the “Away in a Manger” song.

Carey has two children Monroe and her twin brother Moroccan which she shares with her ex-husband Nick Cannon. She collaborated with her child at the Scotiabank Arena which was decorated with a full Christmas vibe. The duo paired with white ballgowns and rocked the stage.

Carey wore a white dress that had a jeweled bodice and a full skirt which they paired with a tiara as well. While Monroe also wore a similar dress with a glittery bodice with cap sleeves. The Grammy winner called her daughter onto the stage by announcing her to be the greatest gift.

“This is my baby girl, here. Eleven years ago, I got the greatest gift,”

“You know what, I don’t have birthdays, but the birthing day was the greatest gift ever. This is our first duet,” she added, before giving her daughter a kiss as she walked off the stage.

The concert was Mariah’s fourth special Christmas performance. She performed in Toronto on Sunday and now she has two more special performances in Madison Square Garden in New York next week. While the mother-daughter is performing the songs together, Monroe’s dad Nick is waiting for welcoming his 12th child with Alyssa Scott. Alyssa announced on Friday that the baby would join the world any day now.

“Quick bumpdate — still pregnant,” she said in a video posted on her Instagram Story.

“I cannot believe it … this is going to be a big baby. Send some delivery energy guys ?.”

The model announced her pregnancy in October and now the baby could come out any minute. Alyssa is pregnant with her third baby this time. The pair also welcomed their son Zen in 2021. However, the couple sadly lost him due to brain cancer in December.

Earlier this month he posted a heartfelt post tribute to his angel son “Zen” as it was his death anniversary. He has written about the struggles during the time and how hard it was to accept him that he is no more.

“Been tossing and turning all night, and as much as I know I need rest, last night I couldn’t sleep at all. I can’t believe it’s been a year already since the toughest day of my life occurred,” he wrote. “Such a painful anniversary.”

Also, the actor continued by saying that losing a child is the heaviest, dark, and most depressive emotion anyone would experience. He also talked about having a mixture of pain, guilt, and sorrow which he suppressed daily.

The actor continued, “Losing a child has to be the heaviest, most dark and depressive experience that I will never get over. A mixture of guilt, pain, and sorrow is what I suppress daily.”

Moreover, Nick is way ahead of anyone. He welcomed four children the same year. With Bre Tiesi he had his 5-month-old son. With Lanisha Cole he gave birth to 2-month-old daughter Onyx and also a son name Rise with model Brittany Bell. With Abby De La Rosa he welcomed his 1-month-old daughter Beautiful.

Mariah Carey shares about her messed up childhood and how she wanted to transform her life when she was a child. Carey also said that the feeling of transformation is a real joy for her.

“When you grow up with a messed-up life and then you’re able to have this transformation where you can make your life what you want it to be? That is a joy for me,” the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer mentioned on Friday

She also said that it is the reason why she wants to give her kids to have whatever they want. She wants to make them realize that they can be anything according to their will and preference. Basically, she just wants her children to live the life to fullest which she couldn’t when she was a child.

“That’s why I want my kids to have everything they can have. I want them to be able to understand that they can be anything they want to be.”

Carey further added that people weirdly look at her for celebrating and being so festive. But she loves holidays and that is something that makes her really happy. She couldn’t experience that happiness in her childhood so she wants to explore that now when she can.

“People think I had this princess-style life or whatever, a kind of fairy-tale existence where I just emerged, like, ‘Here I am!’ And that is not what it is,” the singer explained.

She further put forward how people must have assumed her life to be, but the reality was different and she had to go through tough times. In her memoir, she has mentioned everything about her disturbing childhood. The memoir was named “The meaning of Mariah Carey” and she shared about her violent upbringing.

She also mentioned her abusive brother, Morgan Carey who was very abusive. Carey also shared an instance where she had called the cops as her brother was trying to hurt her mother.

She has written very heart-touching lines in her memoir that bought up tears in her eyes. Such as sharing some situations and times when her mother was tortured and she couldn’t help her. She gives credit to the small incident that happened on the day.

“Choking in tears, I did my best to calmly tell her, ‘My brother really hurt my mother, and I’m home alone. Please come help,’” she wrote. “One of the cops, looking down at me but speaking to another cop beside him, said, ‘If this kid makes it, it’ll be a miracle.’ And that night, I became less of a kid and more of a miracle.” she said

Not just her brother, but her older sister Alison Carey was also abusive and a drug addict. She drugged Mariah with Valium when she was just 12 years old. Not just that she left her with one of her older sister’s boyfriends who was carrying a pistol.

In an interview, she also mentioned feeling different as a biracial kid. She grew up in a predominately white Long Island neighborhood of Huntington.

“There were no role models for people who were clearly mixed or, you know, light-skinned or whatever we were categorizing it as then, so I didn’t know who to look up to when I was growing up,” Mariah said. “It was difficult.”

Well, Drew Barrymore is a smart mom! She is totally standing by her decision not to buy any Christmas gifts for her daughters. Drew is a mother of two daughters, 10-year-old Olive and 8-year-old Frankie. Then in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, she clarified that she is not a “strict or cold mom”.

Her meaning was, gifting them some presents will be worthless at their age and she takes them on a trip every Christmas. Now that’s like a cool mom. Kids of her age will barely remember the gifts but then it will be in their memory if they travel to a new destination.

“I always take them on a trip every Christmas,” the “Drew Barrymore Show” host explained. “I don’t get them presents, which I think at their ages they don’t love.

She believes that children will keep in mind the experience and pictures and she wants to gift them those moments. She considers having a “living memory” better than a “Dollhouse”. That’s a weird concept but then it works.

“But I say, ‘I think we’ll remember the place and the photos and the experience and that’s what I want to give you,’” 

Moreover, she added that she gave her girls some gifts during the pandemic and that experience really sucked.
