Chris wasn’t racing; he was only cycling around the circuit to warm up for the fourth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné. Froome used this event as part of his preparation for the Tour de France.

To get Froome to the St. Etienne University hospital, where he underwent treatment for his numerous fractures, air support was used.

Jennie Pittomvils and Jules Merckx welcomed Eddy Merckx into the world on June 17, 1945, in Brabant, Belgium. Eddy’s family relocated to Brussels in Belgium when he was a year old. Michel and Micheline are Eddy Merckx’s younger brother and sister, respectively.
