Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling don’t maintain gender-specific roles while at home with their two girls. The couple is raising 7-year-old daughter Esmeralda and 6-year-old Amanda.

The couple considers raising them a ‘team effort’ when it comes to cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the house.

She explained,

“I’m not an amazing cook — I leave that to Ryan,”. “Hopefully it’s showing my girls that there are no gender-specific roles that one must take on and that we are partners in this and that we’re all partners in this, not just Ryan and I, but our children as well.”

The costars of ‘Place Beyond the pines‘ are living in harmony in their Canadian house. Mendes said,

“If they see him and I switching off doing certain things that, again, aren’t specific to stereotypical gender things, I think that just creates balance,”

The 48-year-old star did not want the child in the first place when she met the ‘Notebook’ star in 2011. However, their feelings about their relationship ultimately changed.

In 2019, she told women’s health that,

“Motherhood was the furthest thing from my mind. Then Ryan Gosling happened. I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me.”

Mendes has previously stated that she had no desire to have children until falling in love with Gosling, 41, in her late 30s. In April 2019, she told Women’s Health that having children was the “furthest thing” from her thoughts.

Since becoming a mother in 2014, she has been on an acting rest to invest more time and energy with daughters Esmeralda and Amanda.

After returning back to work, Mendes revealed to ‘The view’ co-hosts that she is avoiding sexuality and violence in future projects. She is interested in nice and clean films and calls Disney the perfect match.

“Before kids, I kind of was up for anything — I mean, if it was a fun project. Now I have such a short list of what I will do.”

The “Hitch” actress remained tight-lipped about her mother’s health. Page Six has sought comment from her representative.

Mendes, who has two children with her partner Ryan Gosling, Esmeralda, 7, and Amada, 6, spoke to Kotb about how her childhood has influenced her parenting abilities.

My mom was a stay-at-home mom until I was almost 10 years old, so she was very much my primary caregiver, and I valued the time that she spent with me and our relationship because we weren’t far away from each other.

And those memories, those years with her, simply shaped who I was.”

Mendes has been outspoken about her desire to leave performing to focus on raising her and Gosling’s children in recent years.

She earlier stated that having her children has given her a new appreciation for her mother’s efforts in raising her and her three brothers.

“I can’t believe my mother had three children under the age of four by the time she was 24.” “She was alone in Cuba,” Mendes claimed in a 2014 piece for the beauty site Violet Grey.

I’m often up late, working in my office, or taking a quiet walk under the stars to clear my head before bed. I’m reminded of how fortunate I am to have so much and count my blessings.

Eva previously explained: “I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids.

“I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. And since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent. And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.”

Mendes has previously stated that she had no desire to have children until falling in love with Gosling, 41, in her late 30s. In April 2019, she told Women’s Health that having children was the “furthest thing” from her thoughts.

“Something really crazy happened,” Mendes told in the recent interview with Kotb about having kids at 40’s, “I met Ryan Gosling, I fell in love with Ryan Gosling, and then I was like ‘Oh right. I want your babies.”

“But really consciously I did want to wait until I was a bit older. I just didn’t feel — really it wasn’t until I met Ryan and fell in love. But also as a woman, I just wasn’t ready. It’s such a personal choice for a woman, obviously. Then you run the risk of… you’re always running a risk. When I was pregnant there was always something to worry about. But thankfully I had really healthy pregnancies and I was happy I waited.”
