Fred Savage was fired from the show “The Wonder Years” because of the allegations the female members made. Likewise, on Tuesday, six women came with their complaints against Savage of sexual harassment. Similarly, they accused him of his behavior towards them on set. They are claiming that they saw two different sides of Fred.

Additionally, women also mentioned that Fred has “a charismatic, seemingly supportive colleague and the darker one is angrier alter ego.”The side he shows to other people and his fans and followers is far different than his behavior toward the female workers in the show. People need to know both sides as they also claim that he could be dangerous.

 Further, they also stated that he “could flip to the latter persona in an instant and in such moments.”The female colleagues also explained that he plays smart as he only used to show his perfect side in front of the public. So people were confused id the allegation was true or not. However, one woman stated, “His eyes would go dead.”

Not only this, one female employee stated that they were at a local bar for a night out. And, Fred was waiting for her in the restroom. Moreover, he forced a kiss on her as she explained that Savage, “put his mouth on mine very forcefully.” Somehow she pushed him and runaway and later Savage apologized to her in the textbox.

Fred Savage’s side of the story

All the allegations these women made against Fred are denied by him. As he further stated that he didn’t treat anyone wrong. Responding to the issue, Savage explained,

“Since I was 6 years old, I have worked on hundreds of sets with thousands of people, and have always strived to contribute to an inclusive, safe and supportive work environment. It is devastating to learn that there are co-workers who feel I have fallen short of these goals.”

In addition to that, he also denied the complaints the females are making. One of the female workers stated that between one younger woman and Savage, there was some ‘strangeness” as well. Afterward, the rumors spread and it is found that the younger woman was fearful of him.

However, denying this Fred Savage continued,

“While there are some incidents being reported that absolutely did not and could not have happened, any one person who feels hurt or offended by my actions is one person too many.”

Meanwhile, Savage also mentioned that he will sort out every problem and be a better version of himself. Furthermore, he apologized to all who has negatively affected by him. Lastly, Fred concluded his statement by saying,

“I will work to address and change any behavior that has negatively affected anyone, as nothing in this world is more important to me than being a supportive co-worker, friend, husband, father, and person.”

In May, Fred Savage was fired as the director and executive producer of the shoe, “The Wonder Years”. Likewise, a spokesperson for 20th Television stated,

“Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage, and as is policy, an investigation was launched. Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his employment as an executive producer and director of ‘The Wonder Years.’”

However, the reason for the firing is not been public yet. Though, many sources assume that is because of Fred’s anger issues. Since he was the director so he used to overshoot and give workers under pressure. Similarly, one source said,

“He works for his crews pretty hard by always doing more takes than necessary. Some directors just overshoot. Sometimes they feel like they didn’t get the performance or want to try another angle or things like that. He overshoots and the days are longer, therefore giving more opportunities to snap at people.”

According to THR, three separate allegations are against Fred Savage. Similarly, an investigation is happening. Likewise, Savage is rejected based on the results of the investigation.

Moreover, a spokesman for Disney’s 20th Television said in a statement to Deadline Friday,

“Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage, and as is policy, an investigation was launched.”

Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his employment as an executive producer and director of ‘The Wonder Years’.”

However, the nature of the allegations against him still remains unclear. Also, Deadline reports that Fred allegedly exhibited inappropriate behavior. In addition, he also had verbal outbursts throughout production.

History of the Allegations against Savage

In the year 1993, costume designer Monique Long accused 16-year-old Fred and his co-star Jason Hervey. Similarly, the reason for the accusation is because of a sexual harassment lawsuit.

Likewise, in the year 2018, fellow “The Wonder Years” actor Alley Mills said to Yahoo that the original “The Wonder Years” ended due to this lawsuit.

Also, Alley Mills who plays the role of a Savage mother in the show said,

“When we shot the series finale, nobody knew whether or not The Wonder Years was going to be renewed, and that’s because of a completely ridiculous sexual harassment suit that was going on against Fred Savage.”

However, the case closes soon by the court.

Similarly, he was also sued in 2018 by a costume designer on the set of the show “The Grinder.”

Moreover, in the lawsuit, Youngjoo Hwang claims that the actor hits her arm and yells at her. Though Fred denies these allegations in a statement at the time. Similarly, Fox’s investigation found no wrongdoing.

Similarly, when people ask about the fresh allegations, Youngjoo Hwang’s attorney, Anahita Seda told Page Six Monday,

“This was a long time coming and I am not the least bit surprised. When my client came to me in 2018 with her allegations against Mr. Savage, we discovered that there was at least one lawsuit that had been filed against him in the past”

Moreover, she claimed,

“Mr.Savage had allegedly engaged in this type of behavior not just towards my client but other women as well. It is unfortunate that it took my client speaking out and now reportedly these others before action was finally taken.”

Youngjoo accused Fred of “violently striking” her in the arm three times. Likewise, he also yelled ‘Do not touch me with your hands!’ after she brushed dandruff off of his suit.

Anahita also said,

“The network stated they investigated these new complaints and as a result, terminated Mr. Savage. I suspect that at this point, with the accusations adding up against Mr. Savage, the network must have found some corroboration and had no choice but to part ways with him.”

“If an employer fails to act after complaints of misconduct that are found to be true, they can be held civilly liable in court. So not only would the individual perpetrator be liable, but the employer would be as well.”

In addition, Seda added,

“Fox has not corroborated the claims on record nor have they released their findings of the investigation; we can only surmise some wrongdoing was found.”

In conclusion, Savage has managed the show by directing eight episodes including the pilot. however, it is also important to have a safe workplace environment for the actors to not feel abused.

Hence, Savage has been fired from the show.
