In West Virginia, Brad Douglas Paisley was born on October 28th, 1972. Douglas Edward Paisley, a worker for the West Virginia Department of Transportation, and Sandra Jean Paisley, a teacher, had a son named Brad Douglas Paisley. His maternal grandfather gave him a guitar when he was eight years old and taught him how to play.

When he was 13 years old, he wrote his debut song, “Born on Christmas Day.” Brad Paisley and the C-Notes was the name of the band he soon created, and they started playing at parties and clubs.
