“People think I’m being catty saying this. It’s like, there were 10 years where I couldn’t stand my husband. And guess when it happened? When those kids were little.”

When Barack, 61, would find time to play golf or travel for work while she tried to juggle being a mother and a lawyer, Michelle, 58, claimed she started to feel “ire” toward him.

For ten years, she recounted, “we were trying to build our careers and. You know, worrying about school and who’s doing what and what, and I was like, ‘Ugh, this isn’t even.”

“And guess what? Marriage isn’t 50/50 — ever. There’s sometimes I’m 70, he’s 30, but guess what? We’ve been married 30. I would take 10 bad years over 30.”

In October 1992, the 44th President and the author of “Light We Carry” got married. They have two daughters together, Malia, 24, and Sasha, 21, both of whom resided in the White House throughout their father’s administration.

The sisters currently live together in Los Angeles, where Malia has been working in television and Sasha is a student at the University of Southern California, Michelle disclosed in November.

The son of “Ray” star Clifton Powell and a former basketball player, Clifton Powell Jr., is dating Sasha. Dawit Eklund, a song producer, has been associated to Malia.
