Early days, Childhood and Education
Tamron Hall was born on September 16, 1970, in Luling, Texas. She was raised by her mother Mary Newton and stepfather Clarence Newton Sr. She is and always was close to her step-father.
“I was born to a different father, but God brought in my stepfather who should be my dad.”
She has also shared that her step-father gave her a sense of order and discipline. He also had encouraged her to follow her dreams to become a journalist.
She attended Temple University from where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Career woman
Her career in Journalism began with KBTX in Bryan, Texas. She worked as a general assignment reporter there. Later she changed her workplace and started to work in KTVT, owned by CBS. The station was located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Over time as her career went on, she joined WFLD-TV in 1997. This station was owned by Fox News and was located in Chicago, Illinois. There she reported issues related to local politics. After holding posts such as general assignment reporter and consumer reporter in WFLD-TV where she anchored weekly, she left the station- after 10 years.
From the year 2007
The same year in 2007, she joined the MSNBC national news network where she worked for another 10 years. There too she served different posts such as general reporter and fill-in anchor.
In 2014, she began hosting NBC’s Today. There she became the first African-American woman to serve as a co-anchor in the program. She made history there.
The same year she was featured in an episode of ‘Running Wild with Bear Grylls’.

Quit NBC
It has been reported that after she learned that she would lose her co-anchor slot on ‘Today.’ Her program was to be cut by an hour to make room for a new daytime show. NBC did offer her a “significant financial incentive” to stay with the network, but she declined the offer.
Teamed up
In July 2017, she teamed up with Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. She is to host her daytime talk show and will also serve as the executive producer of the program. The yet-unnamed program will feature entertainment news, current event news, interviews, and human-interest stories. The program will be launched this year, in 2018.

Social worker
She has a heart of gold. She fights against homelessness, illiteracy, and domestic abuse. She also aids and is involved with several charitable organizations.
She also wants to create a Public Schools Association for schools. Through this program, she aims to spread awareness about emotionally and physically abusive relationships amongst teens.

Hall likes to keep her personal life private. There were rumors that she and Lawrence O’Donnell were dating. Lawrence O’Donnell is her fellow MSNBC news anchor and host of ‘The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell. The rumors were never confirmed.
