Tisha Campbell was born on 13 October 1968 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the US. She grew up in Newark in New Jersey. Her mother Mona Raye was a nurse and also a gospel singer and voice coach and a talent manager. Her father was Michael Campbell and he worked in the local factory and also used to sing and was a chess master. Her parents always inspired her to learn singing. Tisha has an older brother and three younger brothers and a younger sister.
Tisha studied at the Arts High School, Newark and after this moved to Hollywood. She is an American national with African-American ethnicity.

Tisha did her first TV show when she was 6. She was cast in 1974’s The Big Blue Marble. She was extremely talented and had won many talent shows. At the age of 18, she landed a role in Little Shop of Horrors. In 1987, she was part of the show Rags to Riches. She was next seen in the musical comedy drama School Daze and played the character of Jane Toussaint. She did the crime film Rooftops and also the action comedy Another 48 hours. She did supporting role in Boomerang. Her memorable role was in House Party in 1990 for which she received an award nomination. She was also cast in 1992 and 1994 sequels of this film. She also landed a role in Sprung. She played the lead in The Last Place on Earth in 2002.

Tisha started to act in the 1992 Fox series called Martin which she left in 1997 after she accused Martin Lawrence of sexual harassment and settled on the lawsuit. She did several more TV series in which she had notable roles.
