Toby Stephens is a popular English stage, film, and television actor.  He is famous for his roles of Bond villain Gustav Graves in the 2002 James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’ and nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance on that film.

He debuted his acting career with the role of Othello in Sally Potter’s ‘Orlando’ in 1992. Since then, he has made his appearance in many television and on stage. He portrayed the role of Claudio in ‘Measure for Measure’ for the RSC and played Stanley Kowalski in the West End production of Tennessee William’s ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ and ‘Hamlet’ in 2004. He portrayed the lead role in the film ‘Photographing Fairies’ and played the character, Orsino, in Trevor Nunn’s ‘Twelfth Night’.

He portrayed the role of Gustav Graves in the James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’ in 2002 and he became the youngest actor to have played a Bond villain and he was 33 years old at the release of the film. He played as a British Army captain in the Indian film ‘The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey’ and the following year, he made his way to India to play the role of a renegade British East India Company officer in ‘Sharpe’s Challenge’.

He gave the voice of Justin in the animated film ‘Terkel in Trouble’ directed by Ray Gillon in 2004 and gave his voice for the character Demetrius in the animated film ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’ in 2005. He portrayed the role of James Bond in a BBC Radio 4 production of Ian Fleming’s ‘Dr. No’ in may 2008 and since after then, he has made his appearance in several adaptations of other James Bond novels.
