Diane Addonizio gained recognition as the wife of American famed former National Football League defensive end and actor, Howie Long’s wife. Howie is currently a studio analyst with Fox Sports. They have a very interesting love story. The two had first met at Villanova. Both were studying and completing their Classical-Studies as major. Howie was one year senior to her. Liking each other, they started dating.
And do you know what and where was their first date? You will be surprised to know that it was in Howie’s dorm room and the two had watched an NFL game. They felt comfortable and happy in each other’s company. Their courtship period was a smooth one. Hence the couple decided to tie the knot. They married on 27 June 1982. When Diane was once asked what she had thought of Howie when she first met him, Diane had said:
“Attractive, boy was he attractive. I’d never met anyone that big who was that good-looking.”

Diane gradually understood the moody Howie and his life, and told in an interview:

“He didn’t send me a Valentine’s Day card when we first started going together. That upset me, and I told him so. Then he explained how holidays never meant anything special to him. At Villanova when everyone went home for the holidays or the summer he was always the guy who stayed in the dorms. You know how a child’s bed is special to him? Well, he never had his own. It was always a couch or something, while he was bouncing around from relative to relative. He was always living out of a suitcase, he always had his possessions on him. It took me awhile to understand that.”
She always supported him and is the strong pillar of his life. The couple had three children together; Christopher (born 28 March 1985), Kyle (Born 5 December 1988), and youngest Howie Jr. (born 1990). Kyle is younger than Christopher by 4 years. All of her kids have followed the footsteps of their father and are into the football game.
