For the National Football League’s Seattle Seahawks, Tyler Deron Lockett plays wide receiver in American football. He was chosen by the Seahawks in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Early Life and Family

The NFL player Tyler Lockett was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on September 28, 1992, to his parents Nicole Edwards and  Kevin Lockett.

From 1993 to 1996, Kevin was Kansas State’s all-time leading receiver before his son overtook him. As a Kansas City Chief, Kevin competed in an NFL match.

Before his son passed him, Kevin was Kansas State’s all-time leading receiver from 1993 to 1996. In the NFL, Kevin competed as a Kansas City Chief.

High School Career

Tyler made several important contributions to the team in high school as a sophomore as it won its first OSSAA football championship in 24 years.

When Lockett was a junior, a broken wrist that was initially misdiagnosed as a severe sprain kept him out of action for the majority of the season.

In the second game of the football season, he suffered an injury. Booker T. Washington won the OSSAA 5A championship and finished his senior year with a 13-1 record.

Tyler excelled at several positions in high school and was recognized as All-State by the Oklahoma Coaches Association. The player was selected for the state East-West All-Star game thanks to his All-State selection.

Professional Career

In Seattle’s first preseason game against the Denver Broncos, Tyler made his NFL debut and scored the team’s first touchdown of the year on a 103-yard kickoff return.

Through the 2021 season, Lockett and the Seahawks reached a three-year, $31.8 million contract extension in 2018. He caught 12 passes for a total of 196 yards in the first three games.

Tyler finished the 2018 season as the Seahawks’ top receiver with 57 receptions for 10 touchdowns and 965 yards.

On April 2, 2021, the player also agreed to a four-year, $69.2 million contract extension with the Seahawks, including $37 million in guaranteed money.

In his first two games of the year, Lockett recorded 100 yards and two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts and 178 yards and one touchdown against the Tennessee Titans.

The athlete completed the regular season with three contests of at least 100 yards (142, 115, 142). With 73 receptions for 1,175 yards and eight receiving touchdowns, he had a successful season.

Injury

Tyler experienced injuries throughout his playing career. The player had to endure numerous setbacks and injuries from his college years all the way through his professional playing career.

Tyler missed the final three games of Kansas’ regular season during his freshman year of college due to an undisclosed injury.

Later it was discovered that the wound was a lacerated kidney. Prior to getting hurt, the player had at least three receptions and 125 all-purpose yards in each of the four games.

On October 5, during the first half of Oklahoma State’s game, Lockett also sustained a hamstring injury.
