Kimberly Perry-lead singer and guitarist of The Band Perry-confirmed the Sunday before that she is splitting from her husband J. P. Arencibia. J. P. Arencibia was a former MBL player and the two had tied the knot on 12 June 2014. They were engaged for 8 months before their marriage. E! News has reported that divorce papers have been filed in this case.

Kimberly as a teenager sang in her band and her brothers, Neil and Reid working as roadies. In 2005, Kimberly founded a band called The Band Perry with her brothers. They were later, in 2008, discovered by country singer Garth Brooks’ manager Bob Doyle who helped them in their musical journey. In 2009, the band signed with Republic Nashville label. They released their single ‘Hip to My Heart’. This song was listed on position 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Chart. Their self-titled EP was released in 2010.
On 12 October 2010, their self-titled album was released. Their song ‘If I Die Young’ reached no. 1 on the country chart. More of their singles hit the top positions on the Billboard and country charts of the US. The album sold 1.6 million copies.
Their second album called Pioneer was released on 2 April 2013. It was number 1 on country charts. In 2014, they also had an opportunity to perform in the pre-game show of Super Bowl XLVIII. In 2015, they released their single called Live Forever and this was the first single off their third album.
