Usher Terry Raymond IV was born on October 14, 1978, and raised in Dallas, Texas. He began singing in the church choir at the age of six.

Usher’s son and Foster’s stepson Kyle Glover, who is 11 years old, suffered significant injuries in a boating accident in July 2012.
The family of Usher experienced misfortune once more the following August. Usher’s son Usher Raymond V was stuck in the pool drain of the singer’s Atlanta house. Usher’s aunt was minding the boy at the time and tried to remove him. The child was hurt, but he or she survived after being taken to a nearby hospital.
