Kat Stack’s real name is Andrea Herrera. She was born on 2nd November 1989 and hails from Caracas, Venezuela. Her father died when Andrea was just 10 months old. Her mother came to the USA illegally and started residing in Miami, Florida. During this migration, Andrea was only 8 years old. She was in Alternative School in her childhood and has disclosed that she was always a problem child.

Her childhood was difficult and tough. She lost her childhood and innocence when she was quite small and has admitted that she has been physically, mentally, and sexually exploited by those from whom she thought that she would get love and trust.

Entry into prostitution

Kat Stacks was 14 years when she ran away from her Miami home with Prince. She came to Brooklyn, New York. But she was sold to a pimp and landed into a hellish life. She was sexually assaulted and beaten up by her pimp. Kat was forced into the life of a prostitute.

She had tried suicide several times by cutting her wrists. She had been in and out of mental hospitals due to her suicidal tendency. Her wrists still carry the scars of her past failed suicide attempts.

The name Kat was given to her by the pimp. This pimp made her pregnant and she delivered her first child, a son called TJ when she was 19 years old. She came in contact with struggling rappers during this time and also was forced into having sex with them.

She learned about YouTube and Worldstarhiphop.com and with the help of the channel started blogging and posting videos online. She started revealing the truth about the rappers and her story in these videos. These videos did go viral and made her an internet star.

But at the same time, she got bashed up be the rappers by talking rubbish about them. This beating was even caught on camera. Her videos have created ripples in the pop culture world. Her Twitter and Instagram accounts have more than 450000 followers.

She also started rapping and made some videos related to it. She was hired by a promoter for an event in Nashville. But she cheated on him by taking the money and not going to the event. She was caught by the law and tried. She was put behind bars. Seeing her online ill-mouthed videos, the Judge decided to deport her. She was in the detention camp.

DREAM activists come to Kat Stack’s rescue

The people from DreamActivist.org came to her and discussed with her about her life. They started an online petition to save her from being deported. The projected her sad tale of being a victim of flesh trade and torture. Prerna Lal one of the founders of the association said:

“Kat Stacks—or Andrea Herrera, her real name—was a victim of her circumstances who overcame those circumstances by empowering herself and other people. She fought against her situation, and she shouldn’t have been penalized for fighting back.”

At her next court hearing, her missing report when she was 14 years of age and evidence to prove that she was forced into this trade was presented. This helped Kat Stacks procure a legal stay in the US. After the legal order, Kat Stacks said:

“I realized I didn’t have to be the person I was forced to be. I could just be myself. And just act the way I want to instead of letting others make me do what I didn’t want to do.”

Kat Stacks has also penned a book on her life called as ‘Becoming Kat Stacks’ and is now residing with her son in the USA.
