Vivianne Miedema, a professional football player from the Netherlands, wears her energy like a crown. Both Arsenal of the FA WSL and the Netherlands women’s national team uses her as a forward.

About Vivianne Miedema |  Family and Education

René and Caroline Miedema welcomed Vivianne Miedema into the world on July 15, 1996. Her younger brother, Lars Miedema, and she were both raised in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands.

Her mother played hockey and had a deep affinity for football, while her father was a former football player who used to play at No. 10.

Miedema fell in love with football at a very young age, unlike any other player. She would run around kicking balls around the house to anything when she was five years old.

She began playing with her brother on her own after observing her father play as she was growing up.

Miedema also began playing in the HZVV club at the age of barely four and a half.

When she was 13 years old, after 8 years of playing, she changed to VV de Weide. In a higher division in Holland, VV de Weide competed against FC Groningen, a team from the first division.

She scored seven goals in all to help the lads win 7-5. She became accustomed to teasing and punishing the boys as a result.

Miedema then faced a life-altering decision at the age of 14 about whether to stay on the boy’s squad or transfer to the top women’s league.

Professional Life and Career

Vivianne signed her first contract with SC Heerenveen when she was 14 years old. Her parents signed it since she was too young to do so.

She frequently had to keep up with ladies who were 30 years old when playing at the highest level of Dutch football while being the youngest player.

Miedema’s significant level-up happened while they were trailing 1-0 in their first home game, and ever since, she has been sitting on the bench.

She then immediately scored two goals upon entering the field, earning her team a 2-1 victory.
