Michell Miller was born on 8th December 1967 in Los Angeles, California, in the United States. She is the daughter of Ross Miller, the first physician to attend Robert Kennedy during his assassination. However, she has not talked much about her family background and early childhood. It’s also not known if she has any siblings. She’s of African American ethnicity and holds American citizenship.
For education, she attended Howard University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, she also holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Studies from the University of New Orleans.

Michelle began her career as an intern for The Minneapolis Star-Tribune, and then for “ABC News Nightline” in Washington, D.C. She then began working as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times from 1989 to 1990. In addition, she wrote articles that appeared in the “South Bay” and “Valley” pages.
After a two-and-a-half-year stretch as a general assignment editor, producer and news reporter for the Orange County Newschannel in Santa Ana, California, Morial moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 1993, where she continued to work as a news reporter and was named WIS-TV’s “Weekend Morning News” anchor.
Likewise, in 1994, Morial moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked as a news reporter and weekend anchor for WWL-TV, a CBS-News affiliate.
She returned to host “The Early Edition” again in 1997. Likewise, from 1998 to 2001, Morial worked as an assistant professor of news and mass communications at Dillard University. Also, in 2004, Michelle moved to New York City, where she worked as National Correspondent and Substitute of the B.E.T.
When she first arrives in New York City, Miller served as National Correspondent and substitute anchor for BET Nightly News. In addition, she is a member of the Board of Advisors at Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Journalism. Also, she is the board member of the School of American Ballet.
Similarly, she served as vice president of the YWCA of Greater New Orleans. Also, she was president of the New Orleans Association of Black Journalists and the Black Journalists Association of Southern California.
Moreover, she also served as a lecturer at several colleges including Howard University, Stony Brook University, Loyola University, Southern University at New Orleans, Drew University, Wellesley College, etc.

In 1998, Miller received an Edward R. Murrow Award and the Woman of the Year Award from the National Sports Foundation. Similarly, in 1997, she was awarded the National Association of Black Journalists Award of Excellence.
Also, in 1998, she won the Edward R. Murrow Award and Dupont Award from Columbia University in 2013. Likewise, she was also voted as the Women of the Year by the National Sports Foundation in 2013.
