He was arrested on January 17, 2020, at John F. Kennedy International Airport. He was charged for storing a Rolls-Royce Wraith across state lines.

The police revealed that they got a call about the robbery at sharp 04:55 PST and were able to reach there in about six minutes later. Also, the house alarm was shut off, which made it easy for the invaders to enter the house and kill him.

Smoke was pronounced dead after he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Unfortunately, the people who barged into his house had known his address though a video he had shared where he was showing off some of his gift bags addressed to him.
