Donald Trump was born on 14 June 1946 in NY and his current age is 71 years. He has mixed descent-paternal German and maternal Scottish. His father Fred was a famous builder. His mother Mary Anne used to work as a maid. Donald was the fourth of five children of his parents. He was raised in Jamaica, Queens, and attended the Kew-Forest School up to grade 7.
He was put in a boarding school called the NY Military Academy. He joined Fordham University in 1964. He took a transfer to Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to study real-estate courses. In May 1968, he acquired his degree in Economics.
His career no doubt is glorious, but what makes headlines usually is his varied relationships and controversies.
His relationships
Donald had three marriages. The first two ended in widely-publicized divorces. His first marriage was to Czech model Ivana Zelnickova in 1977 in Manhattan. They had three children; Donald Jr. born in 1977, Ivanka born in 1981, and Eric born in 1984. When Trump started an affair with actress Maria Maples, the marriage collapsed and the couple divorced in 1992.
Trump had a child with Maples who was named Tiffany and she was born in October 1993. In December 1993, the couple married only to be divorced in 1999 and Tiffany went on to reside with her mother in California.
Trump married Slovenian model Melania Knauss in 2005 in Palm Beach, Florida. They have a son named Barron.
His career
Trump began his career with a loan of 1 million dollars from his father. In 1971, he became head of his family’s real-estate business which he expanded further and renamed it The Trump Organization. His name was also lent for branding and licensing for real estate and consumer products.
In 1982, he was on the Forbes 400 list of wealthy individuals. In 1989, he was already a billionaire. He suffered losses in business from 1990 to 1995 and had to borrow from his siblings’ trusts.
Trump-the media and entertainment personality and author
Trump also gained prominence in the media and TV world. He also authored several books. He also owned and sponsored the Miss USA and Miss Universe beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015. He was also the host as well as the producer of The Apprentice.
The Presidential campaign
He entered the 2016 Presidential race with the Republicans. He was said to be a populist, protectionist, and nationalist. His campaign was the most covered and it had controversial and often fake statements. He won the campaign and became the 45th President of the US. He was the first to have taken up this position without any prior government experience. He is also the oldest and wealthiest President to date.
Sine in the inauguration in January 2017, he has been embroiled in controversies. Whether it is related to the way he won the elections or his policies, he has always been under the radar and his statements have been often counted as controversial. He differs in views as regards the climate change and has problems with those who work under him. His daughter Ivanka and her husband are his assistants and have moved to the White House with him. He has handed over the real-estate business and its management to his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr.
